pinkpanda? Is that a “flash suppressor” you made for the zoomie? lol Looks really cool man!
Lol, “flash suppressor” I’m gonna use that
Today I putted one 1mm2 white flat in a SMO reflector Convoy L6 with short tube and single 26650.
I swapped the stock XP-L2 in an Sofirn SP32A V2.0 for a 4000K 219C.
Great success. Greenish low-CRI beam with a purple corona from the AR-coated glass before:
Pretty warm high-CRI beam after:
Still some artifacts from the smooth reflector and AR glass but much improved. And it matches my TH20 (also has 219C 4000K) so I can use them together.
I would like to make the same mod. could you advice, is this SMD resistor size the one I should use? How much current did you get after this mod?
L6 with White flat result:
541 kcd
1471m
No outdoor beamshots yet. I barely had time to measure before work.
Well done, Zozz. Perfect focus!
I’m surprised how easy it was. I suffered a lot with focus in the GT mini with this led.
I also installed an Oslon White Flat (1mm^2) on my Convoy L2.
Didn't use a centering ring, though it seems that I bull's eyed it after just 2 tries :)
I have paired it with an A17DD-L driver running cresendo.
I also removed both spring bypasses and in the process I accidentally melted the original switch :P
It's pulling around 7.2A
The amount of throw such combination produces is spectacular.
Crazy work with the flats guys! Diggin it Big Time!
It seems a lot.
Mine turns blue at 6.6A fet driven turbo and output is lower. I found for me the top lumens was around 5-5.5A Under or above that it drops down.
Except there’s nothing to gain by allowing 7+ amperes through the 1mm² variant…
You can’t just throw it in a FET driven thrower and expect the best performances
I’m using andúril fw in L6 and I can set ramp max at a safe but good level and not using turbo.
Is the 2mm2 variant able to run safe with fet drivers? If yes I need to buy that version next time.
Ufff….
I like this very much CRX! 60 KCD for small zoomie!
For White flat fans. Seems that we all getting all kind of different results in our mods. But I am pretty sure that sweet spot for last 2 I build is around 5.5-5.8A.
Someone says 6 and someone says 7 which is freaking lol And Djozz says 4.5
I say 4A for small lights.
I agree
Machined/Modified the Copper (press fit pill) Quad 4xXP-L HI V3 5000k of a KRONOS X5 to do double duty…
With a 18650 tube running a VTC5A it makes 3890lms
KW CSLNM1.TG Triple…
The head I made out of 2 different scrap pieces of Aluminum… 15amps/2240lm
I built RGBW_Clicky into an S41 host for my GAW.
Emitters are:
R: XP-E
G: XP-E2
B: XT-E
W: XP-L HI
Any single channel high is 2A, turbo (all 4 @ 100%) draws >5A from my vapcels. Now that it’s done I see I probably shouldnt have used an XT-E behind a multi-lens optic like the carlco quad but I like how there arnt just 3 boring XP-E2 colors so I’m not gonna change it.
I got this set up so it draws around 5.2A from a fully charged cell so I think it’s in the good range.
I was a little apprehensive sticking a fully charged Aspire 18350 in it with the FET driver so started with the cell at about 50% and worked my way up
