Question about my first triple build

I’m about to attempt my first triple build after building a few single Convoy S2+’s. I will be using a Jaxman E2L host. My question is if it is okay to use these LEDs (in parallel) with this driver. I’m not so much worried about heat or runtimes, I just don’t want to damage the LEDs. Thanks for any input.

I have this triple board with a slightly different driver (TA FET), it works. Initially all springs were bridged (with flexible 18 gauge copper wire) but that had a very high amp draw. took those away and the light is now more usable.
what spacer are you planning on using?

I didn’t think the Jaxman needed a spacer, does it? I also wasn’t planning on doing any bypasses, although if I can without without damaging the LEDs, I certainly will.

That I don’t know, never had a Jaxman. You can measure the distance from the MCPCB up to the front glass lens. If it equals the new MCPCB + optics you should be good to go! If you want to delete the lens (and only go with the optics alone), then you would have to make up for the difference.

edit: Just google the Jaxman! If the new triple setup is equal to the one used by Jaxman (the mcpcb + optics in the light or fitting to the host) then it should work. The wire leads are fed from the middle (center) on the linked PCB, so I assume this is the same on this light host/model.

Richard had problems with his drivers running high current triple builds, myself (and lot of others) gave up and now only use the MTN drivers with single builds.

You can do the “pyramid stack” as discovered by DEL to “fix” it (not a true fix but hides the issues).

Just be advised you may not be able to reverse threw the modes or access hidden modes (including turbo / batt check / strobes) cause of the issue.

Have the same driver in my Jaxman E2L. It’ll work just fine. The 219C will work alright as a triple, but not as a single emitter build if a FET is used. I have my E2L with that driver with guppydrv2 and 2x XP-L HI and 1x Nichia 219C

What sort of problems?

I think there were some problems with the BLF X6 drivers running bistro. Something to do with a voltage spike resetting the MCU. I haven’t had any problems with MTN drivers and high current.

This is exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks. Now to begin sanding down the MCPCB to fit. Can’t wait to fire this thing up.
