Has anyone tried to mod the S43 yet? Is the bezel glued? I neither like XP-G3 (significant tint shift) nor the Nichia 219C (bad efficiency) but a quad SST-20 or LH351D would be verrrry nice.
Email added. I picked the copper version of this light and its a little hot rod. Added the 18650 tube and run a 30q in it for Max output. Thanks mad max.
Neat…however I would’ve preferred they would have done the bezel, body, and tailcap in colored ano and used a copper head. Including an 18650 body. As it is it’s just not far enough from a standard black ano which I already own. If I didn’t, but I do.
Yeah, the S43S copper head, and the rest of the body either red or green ano instead of black. THAT would have been impressive, and I might have bought one, even though I already just recently bought the S43S.
I modded my S43S and replaced the Nichias with SST-20s. The bezel was not glued. The optic took a little work to get loose. The o-ring between the bezel and the lens likes to squeeze loose and get pinched when closing things up again.
Martin, Thanks so much as I was just looking at the plain version of this light. Got one ordered but it doesn’t look like the longer tube comes with this model ?
