I am in. Thanks.

I’ve got a BLF Q8 but I might be of help. It all depends on what features you want.

Sofirn Q8: cooler emitters, larger size and weight, tripod/strap mount, longer battery life (The BLF version has the warmest emitters)
SP36: slightly warmer emitters, smaller size and weight, no tripod mount, USB charging, less battery life

Side by side, they work the same, have very similar output and are solidly built. If it’s around the house primarily that you’ll use it, go for the Q8. If you want to carry it in a decently-sized jacket pocket, go for the SP36. Either way, it’s a heck of a lot of flashlight for the money.

Hope that helps.

Does Sofirn manufacture for Utorch? This is a really good practical light as tested by Djozz. I’m hoping there will be a Hi CRI version with the SST-20 later.

Yes, Sofirn has also produced the Utorch C8F which actually is the Sofirn C8F with another branding.

There's a survey initiated by Sofirn to gather information about the demand for alternative versions of their lights, see ► here ◄.

They do for two of their lights, the C8F 21700 and this SP36. No telling where Utorch gets their other models from.

From Sofirns BLF signiture:

Hello Fin,
I am interested and submitted the form.
