it’s been a while since I was on here. Now I’ve been back for a couple of weeks to check out new flashlights and the pressure of buying another one has raised by a lot.
For now im owning a few different 18650 flashlights, mostly 1x18650 ones and a Nitecore TM16 with 4x18650. I’ve come to the point where I’m ready for my first 26650 - and thats why I’m here asking you.
I looked through a lot of reviews lately but I have absolutely no idea on which one to buy.
I guess I’ll just give u some personal preferences:
*- 1x26650 cell
- size is not that important
- bright (2000+ lumen on turbo)
- mainly throwy with a good amount of spill
price limit around 80$ (80€ as I’m from Germany)*
Orders from China are not a problem.
Alright, feed me with suggestions! Please!
Ummmm… I’ve just gone through a few posts about the Emisar D4S. Rated at 58.000cd with a SST-20.
Whats the main difference between the XPL-HI and the SST-20? According to the specifications the SST-20 spreads out pretty much the same amount of lumen but more candela than the XPL-HI - but the XPL-HI costs 15$ more.
Large.
Convoy L2 or L6. single or/and double tube.
Small. and my fav in 26650. Imalent DN35. Great throw with good spread and fits “nicely” in your hand for long periods. the DN70 is another but waay more throw.
You’ll get either of them with current coupons on here under $80.
These above are just what I have and know how they feel.
There are a coupla C8 copies around with 26650 sleeves too I believe.
I like my C8+ and Sofurn C8t (but 18650’s).
Lumintop ODL20C would be my first choice in your specs. I have 2 of them and I like everything about them.
I would also recommend you look at the new Astrolux FT02. It is a 21700 thrower with on-board USB charging. I saw the initial testing and it looks great at around 2200 lumen and 180k CD. They begin shipping this month from Banggood. I think price range is around $50 with a coupon code. I pre-ordered two!
after a whole lot of reading I’ve decided to go for the Lumintop ODL20C.
Ordered it from Banggood for 52€ (60$) without battery. Now searching for a good battery - I’m not sure if I should go for a protected or unprotected one. The low voltage warning should be enough protection to not drain the battery to the point where it gets uncomfortable. Polarisation shouldn’t be a problem either, as I’m always double-checking if I insert it right. (no pun intented )
So I would say it doesn’t need to be a protected cell. I just gotta check finding a good one which ships to Germany in the most short way possible.
