FNG

Thanks for the advice. I saw the "Cyclone C88" in the multi AA thread and I think that might be my next slip. I am not yet ready to move out of the "simple" battery world

So your the "freaking new guy"? Welcome! It's addicting! Turn back while you can!

Turn back! Abort.. Repent!

and welcome aboard FNG.

Happy to have you here but I must admit that i read your name wrong the first time around.

FNG - NFG where in my business we say No F**k!ng Good. No comparison intended at all. Just LOL at myself here a few times.

Great to get a new face here to confirm I am all normal.. ... .. ... Sort of :-)

Have a great time here and Welcome to the fun.

Welcome to the forum!

Finally, someone else is the new guy. Welcome to BLF.

Aloha and welcome to BLF Ricardo Testa!

Welcome and you might want to review your current mail box/mail retrieval tactics. Begin now to increase your control of all postal aspects of your life, so you can better intercept the many packages from China that are soon to arrive. Planning is key, stealth is crucial . . . if you're to preserve normal relations with your significant other.

Flashlights

Welcome to BLF

Skilled used from years of experience hiding Playboys from your mom are soon going to come into play again. By all means get the Cyclone C-88 while they are still around before you take the plunge into lion batteries.

Except your mom always knew .

well, I can't disagree w/ that recommendation - I assume this new c88 will be as nice as the UF version

but, I say if you're gonna go, go big.

start w/ a dry or trj12

ok, so, I'm casually suggesting $100 purchase (w/ batteries) - but I think you'll probably see all of your yard very well

oh, and welcome!

Just buy the XIN TD C8 from intl-outdoor. $30 well spent, you won't find a finer C8 at anywhere close to that price.

Again, thanks for the input. I like what I've read about the XIN TD's. The DRY (or other portable flood-lights)hasn't infiltrated my imagination, yet. I like efficiency, range (low low->turbo) and power/throw. If I had some 18650 experience I would probably buy a ZL 600. My 4/7 AA x2 gives me 2 outta 3 (ain't bad) but I want/need more throw. I like the PA40 but it doesn't have the low low I wanted. Now that I have the low low I can look at other lights like the C 88 or XIN TD or the Shadow VG-20.......but I want to stay with AA's so....TK-41 is interesting but bigger than I want and a bit more than I want to spend.( I am still resisting )

Welcome to BLF. Its too late to run now!

Welcome to BLF Ricardo!

You will love your DRY!

Welcome Ricardo

Welcome to my favorite flashlight website, Ricardo!

Don't worry, everybody was the Freakin' New Guy at some point.

Just how big is your yard? It might help determine how powerful a thrower you need.

Hi Ricardo, good to have you here at BLF.

@ raccoon city: "Just how big is your yard? It might help determine how powerful a thrower you need."

Good point. A Mini Maglite would illuminate mine.. :\

My front yard is a couple of acres. I had someone walking through with what I believe was ill intent. I "lit them up" with some stainless steel and my wife was distressed. So, for her comfort, I want a light to "spot light" them and keep the distance high and confrontation low.
