If you had up to $1.49 to spend, what would you buy?

LOL too funny.

You could probably get a case for 2 18650's.

That's easy! The DX 2x 5mm mini-pig flashlight. Only .78. You would have .71 left over!

Or, 2 pieces of the plastic 2x18650/4xCR123a battery cases is $1.36...

Mmmmmmm

Beer .

+1 for BEER

Or if you can kick in a few more cents one of those powerlight AA LED look-a-likes on ebay

Definitely beer!

My local dollar store and big lots sell small electronic screwdriver sets, allen wrenches and things like that for at/under $1.50

I don't drink beer, but I'd take a CokeLaughing

My wife would make me transfer it to "our" checking account!

If you or the kids ride a bike then this is a pretty sweet item to spend $1.45 on. (LINK)

for a penny more... survival whistle

I know I have seen signaling mirrors for around that price, but I can't remember where.

Two cans of pepsi, penny and make a soda can stove.

Nice penny stove kramer5150 .

Do you use Heet ?

yeah... great fuel. totally clean burning, odorless, stores well too in a small Evian water bottle. I can brown up 4-5 hot dogs in ~10-13 minutes with the mess kit shown, keeping the lid on to trap heat. The coffee can serves as both a wind screen, a vertical channel to concentrate the heat and a stable support for the fry pan. The OP will have to rummage through the dumpster for a coffee can to keep within his budget though.

These little vienna sausages fry up nice on the trails, even faster than hot dogs... kind of salty though so make sure you have plenty of water to stay hydrated. I've also done spam once but it was too salty, I was parched all day. Turkey burgers are my fave. I grill them up at home the night before, store them in the fridge or even freezer depending on how many days I plan on being out. Bust out the little stove and re-fry them up with the lid on till' warm. The turkey isn't as greasy / messy as ground beef.

Here is s couple ideas.

How about a AAA to AA converters for your AA lights.

A changing 7 color LED Apple nightlight.
