Fireflies PL47 Flashlight

mine are kinda dim…

get an Emisar D4S too…awesome magic light!

I was actually considering this one! Maybe after Christmas…ran out of flashlight money after I bought too many Sofirn with the Yuji leds…

Edit : the aux leds arealmost brighter (but floodier) than the lowest low.

PL47 “on” and Emisar D4S on “high”

Some other PL47 pics on here show the Aux LED’s to be brighter.

How many different types of camera/phone were used to take those pics? That’s about how many different levels of brightness you’ll see in the pictures.

Here is a post with seemingly bright Aux LED’s:

I thought I read there is an adjustment screw inside the light you can change the brightness of the Aux LED’s.

Any clean way to get the press fit bezel off?

If I mar the light, I’ll have a freak out!

I have two of these, and as you can see, they have very different brightness levels.

Ya…exactly…its not just a matter of camera variances. “Trit” bright is good enough, but would have liked mine to be brighter…but I realize its just cosmetic and dimmer is fine for location in the dark. Thanks for the picture!

Maybe someone will get the bezel off and find the adjustment screw…

Sorry, the way the PL47’s aux LEDs are implemented, there’s no way for the MCU to turn down the brightness on them. It can only turn them on and off.

And, although there’s a screw inside to adjust the brightness, it’s not physically accessible.

So… the aux LED brightness is just random.

Someone needs to crack open that bezel!!

now how do you set the ceiling? Do I need to click 155 times for the highest.

The ceiling is 1 click for the highest level, 2 clicks for the 2nd-highest level, 3 clicks for the 3rd-highest level… etc.

There are 150 levels total, and the default ceiling is 120 out of 150… or 31 clicks.

Thanks that clears up a lot . Also I love the lighting mode . Great work

I can’t get the smooth ramping to work on my 2nd PL47. Just flickers alot. Stepped ramping works fine. Kinda stumped.

Never mind, got it. Something so simple was difficult for a moment.

Mine arrives tomorrow. Any tips?

Turn mogle off per the instructions. It’s 3 clicks for smooth ramping and double click for turbo. That’s all I use.

Neither of mine arrived in muggle mode

Weird. Both of mine did just like the instructions said. Never know I guess. Guess everyone will find out when they turn it on.

Well one of mine also had a beat up 18650 still inside ( looks like a battery pack pull VTC 6) so they may have been testing for some reason and not set back to muggle mode.

Both of mine came in muggle mode. Nice lights no battery issues, definitely have to tighten battery down tho.

I wonder is it possible to verify type of LED used in PL47. I ordered one with nichia 219b, but light from it looks warmer than my ROT66 with same LEDs and it has tight hotspot, something I would expect from SST-20’s.
