Well one of mine also had a beat up 18650 still inside ( looks like a battery pack pull VTC 6) so they may have been testing for some reason and not set back to muggle mode.
I wonder is it possible to verify type of LED used in PL47. I ordered one with nichia 219b, but light from it looks warmer than my ROT66 with same LEDs and it has tight hotspot, something I would expect from SST-20’s.
My PL47 just hit the USA last week…I think I ordered on Black Friday weekend…from 11/28 until 12/20 there was crickets; 17TRACK showed it as waiting on the seller on the China EMS end all that time. This is how bad overseas tracking is. You have to be patient. Then there’s the slow cargo ship that got caught in a big storm, my flashlight went overboard, got swallowed by a kracken, he shat it out, a dolphin found it and used it to light his way to Nova Scotia, he passed it to some Canadian geese who used it to light their way flying to Florida for the Winter, they dropped it (butterfingers) over the harbor in NYC, it landed on a pimp who traded it for some rock candy with a lady who also works at a mail sorting center, it then fell out of her pocket and got scanned into the USPS shipping system and now I have some tracking finally from both 17TRACK and USPS. Whew. I’m looking at the positives, at least it has been working!
Thanks for the pictures. If I can recall correctly(rot66 is not with me right now), the difference in tint between my PL 47 and rot66 is similar to what I can see on your pictures. Anyway my pl47 can’t be turned off, so I’m waiting for replacement.
I have a question, the center of each optic right in front of the led looks like is frosted compared to my D4S which I can see clearly the led underneath, I am wondering what specific optic is it using, anyone knows?
Here is the frosting I see…
The first post says “15 degree angle TRI lens” is it a Carclo lens? I wonder if the Carclo 10621 would fit and would make an improvement over the stock one since it is not frosted…
