I don’t have any 21700 cells, but i can Imagine those cells will be good available in a short time.

For now i would be happy with 18650.

Usb recharching is not a must, but a nice to have, i can Imagine people find it useful. Personally, i’d like to change cells myself.

As you can read in all above reactions, people love lights with an electronic sideswitch and Narsil firmware.

For more info about Narsil please ask Tom E or Toykeeper (both respected BLF members)
They will be more then happy to help you if you ask them.

I don’t find charging circuits in flashlights useful. Flashlights are bigger and less waterproof. It’s easier to swap a battery and continue using the flashlight.

Simon, what about L2 with side switch? Many users would be very happy.

that light looks interesting with the xhp50.2 emitter, so probably a very floody light?

In Simon’s video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ju-jzbmNq00

It appears the BD03 might have an e-switch in the tailcap due to the battery carrier device. Is this the case? If so, we could put a nice driver in this one.

This looks great. 21700 with Type-C recharge will be awesome! Can we request that the driver is separate from the USB C recharge so it can be replaced? I’m sure many people will like to mod this flashlight with spacer and quad emitters.

Also, would be nice if you can come out with a 21700 S2+.

It depends on personal habits.
Similarly, some are used to tail button, some prefer side switch

Nice you started offering high-cri convoys. However most producers seem to implement the SST-20 or LH351D high-cri leds instead of the somewhat oldish 219C.
Imho the OP reflector should be by default in the S2+ instead of the SMO since the S2+ is an allrounder/EDC light, not a thrower.

Please consider using the well regarded and desired XPL HI 5D or 5A with a nice tint instead of the ugly and yellow XPL HI U6-4C.
Emisar sells the 5D with great success.

Thanks,i will consider to use SST20 or LH351D ,too
S2+ is not a thrower even installing SMO reflector, but the OP reflector can make the light spot even.
5D and 5A is a little redish ,i will try them

TIR optics is really even.
…and cheaper !

Separating the type-c port and driver increases difficulty of flashlight assemblement and driver production.
i can ask driver manufacturer to produce several kinds of driver what you need.
21700 S2+ was added in my plan

I love 30° pebbled TIRs in S2+ like “cigar” lights.
Even XP-L2 looks good with it. Smile

That is great news! I think with the 21700 form factor, people will be buying the S2+ 21700 to mod with quad emitters and carclo quad optics like how everyone was modding the S2+ 18650 with triple emitters so I think we need at least 10A max mode. But that might be too much for the stock single emitter.

Since we’re using this as a Q&A thread…

Is it possible to put the Nichia emitter on other lights like the M2, Simon?

Will be throwier TIRs considered for newer Convoy flashlights?

There are a few very nice LEDIL TIR optics with bigger head diameter.

Hi,

Does a pocket clip come with the S2+?

Are the tint options 5700 & 4700 as in the thread title or 5700 & 4000 as on the website linked in the first post?

Regarding the UI, is direct access to low from off available only if memory is disabled or if it is the memorized mode?

What battery would you recommend for the S2+? I don’t have any 18650.

Thanks.

Normally the lights come with pocket clip Wink
About the UI, you can configure the modes you want according to the this diagram: http://i.imgur.com/jvx04IR.jpg
So, you can put it starting from moonlight, if memory is disabled! If memory is enabled (last mode memory), you can leave it in Moonlight before turning the light OFF and then it will start in Moonlight.

Taking into account the configuration of this flashlight (4*7135, and Nichia), I would recommend Panasonic NCR18650B (it is not a high drain battery, and has plenty capacity for longer runtimes).

Hope this helps!
