[Available again! - BLF special edition light] new Sofirn AAA twisty high CRI 5mm LED

Price is adjusted. But now AE is making problems.

Price adjustment here too, plus site errors in the payment process including spontaneous log-out halfway and a reversing of the discount called exchange correction or something. Cancelled payment, went to glibal site, logged in again and then payment went well.

Ali is not going smooth today.

Payment over Win PC still not possible. Using my Android tablet with AE App payment went throu. So now the waiting beginns.

Did you try replacing all the umlauts with their normal letter counterparts in your name and shipping information (credit card info included)?

I order ~10-20 times a month on AE and only had a few times this problems. If i try it 1-2 days later it will usualy work. It happens only on AE. Ordering from BG, GB Fastech. . . workes without problems.
I think it is a problem between AE and Paypal. But aslong it resolves by itself it is not a big problem. Contacting the support with this will end with the same solution. They will ask you to wait for 24h and try it again. They say they will look into it and contact you after that but i never get any respond from their support. But aslong it is working a day or two later its ok.
I noticed a few problems with AEs payment system.
After talking with one or two sellers i know that it is not easy for them to set up the payment system on AE. And if a seller has not set every option right on AE it could lead to real problems (often it has to do with currency exchange . . . ). Had this problem a few weeks back. I confirmed the receive of the package (usually this is the moment AE is transfering the money to the seller. But i had set my AE to pay in €. But the seller had not set his AE right to receive €. Only $. So the money was hold by AE for ~a month till this was solved. Same problem when a seller adjusted a price a few weeks back (he adjusted the $ price) but i wanted to pay in €. It was not working. Solution from AE support: please cancel the order and ask the seller to redo the process with option to receive another currency.

@ People paying with € and price already adjusted:
How much did you pay for each light?

Sorry for the question but I’m trying to check how much these coloured lights will actually cost!
After the store authomatic adjustment (that I mentioned above) there was no further change.
I don’t mind paying the 14,87€ I have listed so far, but it the final adjusted value is much lower…I will wait!
Thanks in advance!

I had a surprise today when I arrived home
And now I say even more: good work to all that were involved in this project, djozz, Sofirn, iamlucky13 and many others I may have “lost track” along the way!! :+1:

2 awesome little lights
(BTW, the clips are tough!)

Did you paint the reflectors?

Nop mate, I just used a UV light above the flashlights  No mods on these…yet :smiling_imp:

Yay
and very nice photos

Up until this point I’d always thought 4500K (neutral) hi-CRI or bust but that Yugi 5600K hi-CRI is really lovely.

I agree on both points

until Daylight White became available in High CRI, I avoided the green tinted, low cri cool whites

now I want High CRI in all Color Temps, 5600, 4500, and 3500, 3000, and even 2000…

I like Cool, but only w High CRI, when my brain is white balanced to daylight
I use Neutral High CRI, when im in places where the environment is Neutral
and I like warm High CRI, when its fully dark or Im in an environment where the ambient light is Warm

I really like BOTH Yuji color temperatures, they cover the times when my brain is adapted to Cool light, and also Warm light.

@ jon_slider
Thanks mate  I finally got them and couldn’t hold my phone, I had to take some photos

I like them

Precisely my reaction!!! I picked some “non High CRI” lights and pointed them to an orange and red threads to check how “high” was the 5600K CRI! Man, it is incredible, the colours are rendered as in daylight
Love it

Got 2, really glad to see the WW, got the 3200K. My mom is getting at least one of them, I think, she prefers the incandescent tint to led. Do these still have high cri yuji leds?

A query for the driver gurus here.

I recall that for the Arc AAA, Gransee (the builder) told us that in an emergency, for longest battery life, just leave the flashlight on rather than turning it off and on —- because starting up the driver sucked more power out of a failing AAA cell than the constant drain with the LED illuminated in its “moonlight” low battery mode.

Would that still be good advice, with a modern driver?

Yeah, I do live in an earthquake-prone area …

From my experience my lumintop tool AAA will happily sit in a low moon state on a dead cell, but wont light again after you turn it off. I can see that statement being true.

I’d imagine that once your cell is low enough for the “joule thief” to stop working, you’re probably going to have a pointless amount of output. I could well be completely wrong though.

Sofirn finally adjusted the price for my 2 lights,
but now I get
“This product is sold out or the seller discontinued selling this product.”
when trying to finish payment.

Aren’t the products reserved when you make the order (even before you pay) ?

I assumed so since it says:

Status:
This order is awaiting your payment

Reminder:
Without payment, this order will be cancelled after: 8days 20hours 08minutes 02seconds .

Maybe I’ll have to wait now until more are available…

Does anyone know how long til blue is available? Might get one for my niece. And hopefully I’ll get at least one

Any waterproofing in these? Handy but not necessary.

Same as my Fenix CL05 “liplight”. After a serious stretch of time the light gets really dim, but it will not start up after you have turned it off. Apparently the cell’s are so far depleted that they don’t catch a second breath. As a matter of speaking. So treat them as old soldiers: they will never die, they just fade away.
Maybe the “joule thief” needs some Vf to start working, after that it will “pump up” the leftovers in the battery.
