[4K Review] Fitorch P25 "Little Fatty" - HOW NOT TO CARRY IT!!!

Thanks for the nice and funny review….now I am even more excited about the little fatty, I have ordered one too…

I can imagine it’ll be one of the biggest selling lights of 2019.

I just wish it had Narsil or a generic UI.

Agreed. I’m finding that these oddly proprietary UI’s become annoying after a while. I always have to “acclimate” myself to my Nitecore EA4, having to “half press” to ON and accidentally hit turbo with a full press on my first use of the night. And while half press turns it ON, a full press is required to go OFF as further half presses cycle through intensity.

So the P25 seems to have yet another UI flavor that’s rather different. The P25 requires a Full Press+Hold to turn off… and that’s what is used with the EA4 for OFF+Lockout.

Yeah, it can get a little confusing sometimes, when you have various e-switch lights…

Still waiting on my ‘little fatty’…

Oh, I though the ’Li’l Fatso” was the Haikelite (SC26?).

agreed, it would sell a ton with Narsil

Great video. Not so great UI

Depends if this one would fit a replacement driver
If it has separate switch bord likely, if switch on PCB would need enough interest and proper measurements to make one

How hard would it be to change this execrable UI to Andúril?
Anyone out there who could change mine?
I could truly love it then

Anyone tried replacing the driver?

I’d be interested too, the ui is just awful - especially as it’s in some ways the reverse of anduril lol!
I double click and strobes come on when I’m expecting full beam lol, then I press to switch off and it changes modes……makes me look a right muggle lol!
I know, I’m old , dumb and used to Anduril now…… I’d love one in there though with aux if poss, there is loads of room!
Mines actually Boruit, but it’s identical.

Switching it directly to low from off means guessing when to release the button. And it takes too long, same for switching it off. OTOH, the locator and voltage indicator are nice features. Keeping them would probably mean editing the source code. Still interested.

As it already has an e switch, theoretically you could put a fw3a driver in, in some kind of holder - not the easiest thing to work on though being inside…… that part sadly doesn’t unscrew and the driver does look like it’ll easily pop out - it looks just a push fit.
Where can you get a driver though lol - anyone got a spare!?
Also I’m disliking these green tinged leds too, more and more as time goes on and I get other lights with nice tints…

SST-20 are a very good match for the P25. Much less light (not exactly visible, but I measured only under 1800 lm), but more range. I find it adds the throw I missed from this flashlight.

And the colors are so nice (I got the LEDs from int’l outdoors iirc) …

AWB:

Left: P25, SST-20@4000K, right: C8, XHP50.2@6500K

I only now noticed that the red aux LED flashes on high even with fully loaded battery. On approx 3,8V, it flashes rapidly. Is resistance so much lower in SST-20’s that voltage goes down below lower limits?

Hope it will be solved when I got my 26650 extension(*). Not sure.

*) still need a holster for P25 w/ extension. Any recommendations?

i use the sofirn sp33 or convoy C8 holster for my P25 26650

Thank you, I even have one C8 holster at home! :+1:

i could have read and skimmed a text review for what i wanted to know, in 30 sec
i hate videos
what is the cost
what is this weird UI
what is the battery…:?

wle

Flashaholics videos are pieces of art. I really enjoy them for what they are. Beside being entertaining and funny (was there a litte Charles parody?), the (to me) most important aspect, the beam, ist well covered.

Thank you, like them a lot :+1: .
