No more PAYPAL at AliExpress. Option is not there anymore. Anyone else notice the same thing?

I was just on minutes ago… healthy shopping list going with Convoy and Sofirn, what a bummer…
Call up paypal and request a debt card, problem solved. I use mine anywhere that doesn’t take PayPal. Not that my bank / credit card people can’t run a charge back just the same but I like the added layer of PayPal keeping me from having to give my actual card / account numbers out to vendors.
You can disable backup funding on the card so it’s only able to draw from your PayPal account, never a real account if you wish (that’s how I have mine).
It’s nice to know that the backup funding can be disabled. I knew they had a “debit card” but I don’t have one and didn’t know that.
Could it be that only US customers cannot use PP anymore? I can still pay in Simon‘s Convoy store with PP.
OK this is weird… Sofirn sent me an e-mail message thru AliExpress about adjusting the price on my order, the PayPal option was there and it worked?
Nothing about my Convoy order…hmmm
Confirmed - Paypal option is now back……definitely was not there all day. This was at Simons Convoy Store and another merchant.
They started off without PayPal. I didn’t know they added it. Good to know.
I order an L2 with the XHP50.2 earlier with paypal. Was around 1:30pm CST.
Edit 2019-05-30—00:52:55EDT: PayPal was only disabled for a particular seller, so it’s not actually “gone”. The other problems I report about the “new” payment system remain relevant.
Perhaps I’ve missed a more recent discussion in another thread, but PayPal is again gone from AliExpress. I last made an order via PayPal on 2019-03-28 and it worked fine, but AliExpress has since launched a new website and PayPal is simply gone, at least for me. I could not find the PayPal name anywhere within the checkout system and I’ve been through it quite a bit over the past 2 days while attempting to pay for an order.
I also could not check out with the standard credit card system and repeatedly got a “system busy” error. I resolved this by choosing “other payment methods” during checkout. This brings up a different checkout page, but one which also accepts credit cards (and defaults to this option). My credit card payment went through immediately from that page, so I recommend using “other payment methods” each time you check out.
Note also that the new website and checkout system implies that you place an order before paying for it. This seems to be the paradigm they want to convey, anyway.
I made an order earlier this month and it worked. Maybe it’s just down again. Not sure what the issue was before but it was cleared up within a day I believe. Should be just temporary hopefully.
Yea its weird we never had an oprion to PayPal here in Australia on AE but every one else does or did.
Had that problem yesterday on Simon's store, but found a round-about way of getting to the PayPal option. Don't remember what I did, just that it wasn't obvious and seemed a bit odd.
Guys, there’s a good reason Paypal will probably be removed from Aliexpress “soon”.
Now, if you get a refund, the seller will not be reimbursed the payment fee, which is bad for us, and the sellers.
I have some news, though no explanation to go along with it.
I just tried to check out with a different order and PayPal was included as a primary payment option (no digging to find it).
However, I went back to the seller from my prior order and again tried to check out with more items; PayPal was nowhere to be found, just as before.
So, PayPal is apparently available for some sellers and not others. I had never before experienced this and have always paid with PayPal. This is true for dozens of orders over the last few years, but now it seems that PayPal might be optional depending on factors I’m unaware of.
I can’t assume anything, so I cannot say whether sellers have the option to refuse PayPal or if AliExpress has disabled it for certain sellers or their geographic locations, etc.
BlueSwordM may have a point, but I just don’t know what’s going on here as I’ve always assumed that the payment source really didn’t matter much to sellers as AliExpress is serving as the middle-man who releases their funds after shipment or whatever.

Can’t use it in Canada, and with certain sellers.
I don’t remember that it worked for Hungarian customers at all.
I had heard that PayPal was not available for customers from certain regions or countries, but this is the first time I’ve ever come across a seller that did not offer PayPal to me. This is why I was surprised and confused, though my issues were compounded by the repeated errors during checkout.
Thanks to everyone and I’ll avoid reporting “PayPal is Gone!” (i.e. the sky is falling) the next time this happens unless PayPal goes missing from numerous known sellers

I like the extra security of Paypal payments.
If the dealer won’t accept it.
I just buy from elsewhere. It’s my money.
