ZeroAir’s review of the GT Mini has a runtime graph…

https://zeroair.wordpress.com/2018/08/31/blf-gt-mini-flashlight-review/

However, the GT Mini sample ZeroAir got appears to have a lower max current (his measured lux/throw are lower than spec), I believe his sample may be one of the few reported to have lower current (GT Mini supposed to have 5.5-6Amps on max FET; but there are reports of people getting only 3-4.5 amps, thus not hitting the rated throw of 700+ meters)..

AFAIK, the maximum current on unmodified GT Minis was about 4.5A. Mine reaches up to 6.2A now with bypassed springs.

My CW light is stock. With a 30Q I see 5.5A. Maybe it was the NW lights that drew around 4.5A max?

That's possible as I have bought the NW version. According to Banggood it's up to 17W / 4.5A

"Use 17W, 4.5A FET drive, standby current is 27μA when shutting down"

Because of the rattling in one of my GT Mini's I didn't use that light. Now that I started playing with it I discovered that there are more problems with this light. Sometimes when I push the switch nothing happens. Then when switched on it sometimes jumps straight to turbo mode. frown

Can anybody confirm me if the top of the ramp is 50 or 80% brightness? The manual says 50, but I’ve read in some places that it’s 80%.

It depends on how you measure it. It’s probably 80% of the ramp steps which is about 50% the lumens.

I got 700 (2.8A) lumen at top of ramp and 1200 (5.5A) lumen on turbo. So make of it what you will.

So it means if we use the ramping UI, we can’t access between 50 and 100% lumens? That’s not cool.

I also found what appears to be a firmware bug. See if anyone can reproduce it.
In ramping UI, with strobes disabled, if the ramping is at maximum (50%), double click turns on turbo, but double click again turns off the flashlight.
If ramping is at any other brightness other than maximum, double click turns on turno and double click again returns to the previous ramped brightness.

I’m pretty sure yesterday it worked well, today it’s not working. I performed a factory reset and nothing changed. My firmware is 1.3.

Any tips?

It’s only like 1 step. There is not a lot of difference.

This has been discussed before. Was it not in this thread? Maybe it was another GT Mini thread. It’s just a quirk.

Thanks for your patience Jason. I read the whole thread before I had the light in my hands and somehow I forgot it was mentioned here. Guess I’m getting old. And like chadvone said, I too find it annoying this glitch.

Hi, Is it possible somehow fix or rotate rubber switch cover, because it's rottated too much to the left?

You can pry the press fit retaining ring up (carefully) & rotate the switch cover / switch to your liking. That might be more trouble than it is worth though…. but that depends on how much it bothers you.

No, the “silver ring” (retaining ring) is holding the “rubber cover” in place. To rotate the rubber cover you must loosen or remove the retaining ring. Then rotate the rubber cover & press the retaining ring in again to hold the cover.

The retaining ring is a ‘press fit’ (not screwed in) so you must somehow pry it out to remove it.

IIRC someone in this thread showed how they did it, pictures included. I do not have time to hunt it up now. But if you have not found it by the time I get back home I’ll find it & post it here.

Sometimes you need to use a heat gun to heat up the bezel and soften the threadlocker, then use a pair of rubber strap wrenches to rotate in opposite directions. The amount of threadlocker will determine how tight it is and if heat is needed.

Sometimes even a heat gun is not hot enough and you need a blowtorch, while being careful not to discolour the anodisation.
