set BLF a6 to turbo only

I have a completely stock BLF a6, and would like it to only output in turbo mode, rather than having me cycle through modes.

I’ve looked at this page - http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~toykeeper/flashlight-firmware/trunk/view/head%3A/ToyKeeper/blf-a6/blf-a6.txt

While I have no trouble getting it into the configuration mode, the light doesn’t cycle through modes. It just shines at the ‘low’ setting and stays there (no blinking, no switching to the next mode).

Am I missing something? Not waiting enough?

I’m totally new to this, so if I’ve missed something obvious well… it’s not obvious to me yet ( )…

OR

Since one of my uses, my primary really, is as a non-injuring self defense “go away” gadget.

Any recommendations for another - better - option at the same price point that does what I’m asking about?

THANKS!

bypass (or remove) the whole driver.

Thanks!

But… noob…

Can you tell me how (or where to find out how) to do that?

Do you have soldering equipment?
You only have to put the minus of the LED directly to the flashlight body.
So you can solder that (usually back, sometimes white) wire to the first 3 pins of the FET.
You will then use the driver board for the plus spring only.

The driver will still be “ON”, but it uses a negligible amount of energy.

You will not have any low voltage warning or protection anymore.
But you will notice dramatic loss of output when the battery is running low.
This will happen before the battery is below 3 Volts, so it should be okay.

easier put battery voltage to fet gate

if it has mode memory enabled, won;t it come on in turbo, if you turn it off in turbo? (using mode memory)

I was kind of under the impression that it WOULD turn on in the last mode used.

BUT

Whenever I turn it on it first opens in the low power mode.

After I click twice (off and on) it goes to the turbo….

you do have the ability to configure whether or not it uses mode memory(as well as about 5 other options)

whether it works specifically on turbo, i am not sure

i have one
