!Plug Plug - Album on Imgur!

Hi guys,

Have picked up a bike light and it’s come with a non UK charger and an adapter as above. I have a Hope bike light charger pictured, which I trust and fits the UK plugs….but I wondered are these interchangeable? The connected will fit the battery, but unsure if the specs are ok to use?

Thanks

What’s being charged? A battery pack, but do you know what’s in it?
And what kind of plug is on the “non UK” charger — US? Australian?

The 2 charges both have positive center plug (that’s good)
but the Hope is a lower voltage so probably won’t fully charge whatever the batteries are in the pack.

Can’t you find a plug adapater for the “non UK” charger to make it plug into your AC power?

Thanks hank,

Both lithium ion packs. The new one is 4x 18650s wired 2s2p I presume. The hope is a sealed pack, but looks to be the size of 2x 18650s.
Is the voltage the difference between resting and nominal? I’ve seen packs listed as 7.4 and 8m4 before, but both on the same cells.
Not sure. I’m also not sure how these wall type chargers know when a pack is full or not.
The new light came with an adapter, but given it’s budget, I’d prefer to use the hope if it’ll do the same job

Just get one of these” gadgets/adapters “:https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gizmo-Visitor-Mains-Adaptor-Australia-Others/dp/B004CM0KI4/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1547075022&sr=8-5&keywords=travel+adapter+usa+to+ukand you`ll be able to plug just about anything to your AC mains.

Just put the budget charger and battery pack on something fireproof, in a room with a smoke detector. And don’t leave it unattended overnight. You don’t know but you can bet the batteries are also likely “budget” cells.

And you can look up chargers on HKJ’s site and see if you recognize the one you got and see if it’s rated dangerous.
