Wrist watches. Post pics, if you EDC one!

It sure would be my fav as well weklund

New Nato Watch Band for my Casio MDV106-1A. Great quality for $9.95.

Got from Amazon

nice.

aliexpress has natos for as little as 40 cents.

I’ve gotten some for $1, and they are ok for light use.

they also have rubber diver bands, for as little as $1
which is what you see on many old ebay diver watches - chinese generic replacements - the old rubber usually gives up in 10-15 years

That’s a crazy low price! How’s the quality? What I like about Amazon, I ordered it 2 days ago. Got it today. If in the unlikely event where it’s miss delivered to the wrong address, they will replace it or refund your money no questions asked. It happened to me once.

—i’ve gotten about 3 at the $1 price, they are ok, there was one where the holes were just melted into the nylon, which works but is crude
steel parts may rust, can;t tell
i figured for that price i can gamble
some watches i have just to resell or reband for the kids or whatever

some of the bands are good for kids, garish colors and designs

i’ve got about 5 on order now, mostly rubber ones or silicone
under $1
there are also very cheap metal bands
milanese style
forged/folded link style
those can look too cheap if under $3

and of course delivery takes forever

Word of warning on the cheap metal bracelets: not only do they often lack adjustment vs more expensive options, they arent always 316L or whatever the usual steel is and Ive heard of a number of people getting skin irritations from them.

yep - all possible - i’m gambling!

i had one of the cheap rubber ones and it smelled chemical-ish at first

Tutima FX UTC

Weklund WOW! That’s a gorgeous watch!

Thanks. This beauty has served me well for many years. I own the non chrono mdl 631 FX Pilot as well.

Tutima makes a fantastic watch.

Well.
Over the last forever yrs. I’ve owned and worn two watches. First a Seiko Automatic Chronograph divers. Lasted me for around 26 yrs. then I hit with a hammer (accidently)
Got a little loose and rattly after that and very bad at timekeeping (Chuckle)
This one. a Citizen with solar panel face.
had for around 18 yrs. Since the solar came out.
Plus my first ever watch. an Omega Seamaster. Bought in Germany in Army back in 1961. My Dress watch.

Personally. I reckon a good quality “anything” is worth the extra cost.
I’ve always gone that way. and never but once. Had a bad deal.
Bought a new Holden wagon decades ago. Heap of s==t.

Convoy. Astrolux etc. ARE the obvoiously different items.
They give quality with sensible. NOT greedy pricing.
Thank you all.

To be fair you can get a dead-accurate and unbelievably reliable watch for very cheap now. G-shocks and other sub-$50 quartz watches for example. Anything above that price point is luxury or special use case just like with flashlights.

Also, those Tutimas are gorgeous. I’ve always loved the look of Sinns offerings but never really seen or heard of these before. Might have to look into these more even if they’re even farther out of my sane price range haha

Burning Playdogh.

Accuracy isn’t everything.
with a watch… it’s more the looks and feel on your wrist.
These feel and look “good”. The Seamaster especially.
I like Rolex too, nearly bought one when getting the Seamaster. But glad I didn’t.
The $400+ Citizen looks the same. feels the same.
and costs a fraction of.
That’s classed as my cheap watch. in relation to what it copied from hey.
($10 grand plus)

As long as YOU happy with your whatever it is. It’s The one for you.
Regardless of price.
My eldest G’Daughter is a shift manager on the mines over here…
on over $300k a yr.
She has worn a $24 plastic watch since I bought it for her 21st as a joke…

Beautiful! I love a well worn Submariner.

Thanks … It’s weird that something like a wrist watch can become a part of your identity. I would be very bummed to not have my ole Sub on my wrist to glance upon for the periodic time check. Like an old friend to me at this point. I have been collecting watches for some 40 years, buying. selling, trading but I will never part with my Sub.

Here’s mine a timex flyback chrono on one of my nato’s.
It’s quite a bit more beat up now (with a slightly lagging hour hand and some chips on the crystal) but I still love it enough to wear it everywhere.

Here’s my Seiko SNZG13J1. I’ve had it for years. It’s scuffed up and shows its age. but I really like it. I use a variety of Zulu straps, mostly from CheapestNatoStraps and should probably get some more.

I swim in it and wear it nearly all the time. There was one period where it stopped working after I spent an afternoon chopping wood and splitting logs. I wonder if the automatic mechanism didn’t like the pounding. The funny thing it that one day not too long after it stopped, it started working again. I still don’t baby it and years later it’s still running pretty accurately. I have to adjust it a minute here or there every week or so.

I’d like to save up for a Seiko Samurai. That’s a beautiful looking dive watch, as are a lot of the watches in this thread.
