Fireflies E07 preview

:+1: +1

The big blob of solder on the driver springs of my two lights costs >1.5mm of spring compression, maybe 2mm on one of them
.
Edit: (that’s after I nipped off what was above the top of the springs)

Make sure the solder blob is only sticking to the top coil. If it sticks to the top and 2nd coil and keeps them from compressing that could cost you some space. Press on the spring with your finger, it needs to go about half way down. If it doesn’t make sure the bypass wire is able to go into the driver hole when pressed. If it binds up/is kinked that could be an issue too.

Why solder blob the spring at all. My PL47 has one and it does use up a couple of mm of precious space.

I have an E07 on the way. So far four ROT66 and one PL47 in the armory.

A bit more output. I agree though factory spring bypass is risky. They already use high current springs so it’s probably a smallish gain for a lot of risk with battery fitment and risk of breaking.

I have a clear and i look at the deges of the fins and the edge is machined flat on the edge. So the edge on mine is great. Feels like a rounded edge

My dark gray is not rounded. Anyone with a clear have a good enough camera to show that edge? I know Dale will take his signature pics

.

best I can do

Wow more than I could have hoped for. You can even see the machining on the flats. Thanks for the pic i bet that makes a big difference in how it feels

I noticed the extra chamfering on the clear ano version when I saw vinh’s pic. Thanks for confirming this.

Max ramp should be under 50% power by default.

The default ramp ceiling is 120/150 for the dimming levels. Not sure how that correlates to output though, it would probably change a lot per LED/battery type/# of LEDs.

I get 8300 Turbo and 2830 max ramp.

I’d like to know if setting max ramp to 8300 lumens increases the brightness of Lighting mode

Pretty sure lightning mode utilizes the full DD capability and is not influenced by the ramp setting.

Shirnask, great pics, shows quite clearly that FF was listening and I, for one, love it!

Edit: Mine is at the local Post Office, scheduled for delivery tomorrow (Monday)

It’s a lot of fun, I’d love to see Acebeam implement lightning mode on the X70-GT.

I’d feel like The God of Light and Thor at the same time. Turning night to day or creating lightning.

I have Anduril on my 458 Ham’r (25,000 plus lumens) and it is, indeed, a lot of fun. All that’s missing is the thunder…

Time to add a speaker and fake thunder sounds synced to Lightning mode to the Ham’r? :smiling_imp:

Does fireflies have any plans to make big light?? Like the size of the acebeam x70gt with the 48 xhp 35 hi ?

Can the illuminated button be switched off?

At night I would like to only have the aux LEDs switched on.
And the button off…

Holy shot! That would be sweet! Maybe 48 White Flat 2mm at 1.5MCD would be a dream come true. Imagine using Anduril lightning mode. That will make you truly feel like Thor like Flashaholic said.

But I have a feeling they wouldn’t want to make something that expensive. At that price, people will be expecting perfection, which is unlikely to achieve for a light of this calibur, and some will be taking advantage of Paypal disputes to get free lights from them for minor imperfections so there’s too big of a risk to make such an expensive light. I hope I’m wrong and FF does have plans to make world record breaking lights at the top end.
