This light is definitely harder to build than companies initially think. Olight gave up with their X9. Acebeam gave up with their X70. Imalent tried with their MS12, but it doesn’t work well at all.
So if a normal flashlight takes 6 months to a year to design and release, then we should expect twice as long for an active cooling light.
I would not dwell on it too much. They will either make advances in the design or cancel it all together.
If they were smart they would contact people on the BLF forum to help design it. The principles are not that complicated, it just takes some ingenuity to solve all the problems and increase efficiency in performance, manufacturing cost, simplicity of design and reliability.
