The winner of S2+: #38 AlexGT
The winner of C8 White flat: #14 Agro
I know I know I forgot about my 1000 post giveaway and also I’m a little bit over 2000 posts now. So Idecided to make both together.
I will be giving avay two modded flashlights. I haven’t decided yet what. Don’t think too overpriced things but maybe it will be an Eagle eye X6 or S2+ or C8 or something same in price range. Both flashlights will be modded. No stock

I’m in Hungary so I only can pay shipping costs in Europe or if the winner is outside EU and will pay the shipping costs I will send it anywhere so please consider this if joining outside EU.

Rules:
Must be BLF member before 2019.01.01
Must be above 30 posts
Everyone only can enter once. So first post in thread counts.
I will put the winners on this OP and send them PM.
If the winners doesn’t respond in 5 days the next takes the winning place.

If you want to join just put in one picture of your last arrived flashlight and tell what was the first “serious” led flashlight that make you to think about flashlights as a hobby and made you join BLF.
I decide and post the two prizes in a week.
Givaway end date: one or two weeks after IWA Outdoor classic. And I will choose winner within one week after that with random.org

Edit:
My latest flashlight is an Amutorch VG10 Nichia.

And what lead me to this hobby and BLF is a Convoy C8 XM-L2 old version with removable pill. First I stacked 2 extra 7135 to the driver in total of 10. Then reflowed the XM-L2 on a Sinkpad and added one more 7135. Later I dedomed that led in petrol. That was my first ever flashlight mod also. The right one on the next pic.

*
Edit2:*
One of the two flashlights will be a
Clear Convoy S2+
Stainless silver button
OP reflector
5000K Samsung LH351D 90 CRI led
2800mA 8x7135 driver
modified babka firmware:
–14 mode groups
–5 click battery level (1-to 8 blinks from empty to full) or hidden strobe and beacon (can be turned off)
–8 minute turbo stepdown to 50% (can be turned off)
6 blue led PD68 style lighted tailcap button
screw type belt clip

Edit3: End date modified due to busy plans and IWA.
Edit4: Closing now.

Well done on 2000 posts :THUMBS-UP:

Not in, but here's my latest arrival and it was the old sipik zoomie that LED me to BLF :)

Congratulations Zozz, I think your contributions to BLF are friendly and always valuable. I appreciate real content and you provide lots of that.

I will leave those nice modded flashlights to folks who have less opportunity than me to do their own mods.

The light that got me started on BLF was this little 16340 light, although I never posted about it here. It was my first serious mod and it was the first reported mod of a budget light with the famous 90CRI Nichia 219A that just then became for sale on Illumination Supply back in 2012. The driver was a 4x7135 AK-101 NANJG driver.

I posted about the mod on CPF and got exactly 1 response (and it still is 1, just looked it up) which led me believe that I was not supposed to put this precious led that they were all so lyrical about inside a sub-10dollar host.

Then I found BLF and all got better. The first serious mod on BLF (a Uniquefire T20 mod) got 124 responses: inquiries, compliments, discussion about leds and dedoming, random chatter. So that made me stay

The little modded 16340 light still works fine and is still a nice EDC with a very good beam and tint, even by todays standards.

Congratulations for your 2000 posts!

My last light is an Emisar D4S, with sst20 5000k and red aux leds, it’s helping me a lot as a bedside lamp with my 2 month son! (He’s on the photo too!)

And the first light that got me into this “flashlight thing” was an ultrafire C2, with xml Cree led and three modes without blinky ones. I used it a lot and it survived to a lot of drops and water, I finally gave it to a friend and started to buy more flashlights, that’s how I ended in this forum, there was a lot of information about buying, modding and all that can be done with flashlights!

Congratulations for 2000 posts

Last flashlight i bought is

My first serious light was convoy s2+
Never modded anything

My last build light was a Utorch UT02 with 2mm² Oslon(same die as the white flat) with 7A 2S Buck driver

I measured here on 5m almost 400kcd but not sure if there was a mistake, but it literally blasted away the stock light
on its way to new owner which will measure Lumens and throw

My latest arrival, I loved the colour and I wanted an S2+ for the mods I plan to try out (I have a some parts in the post) !!

The light which resparked my interest in flashlights, I was always playing with small cheap lights as a kid my father bought me a new light every so many weeks back then (incandescent bulb torches) this was my first LED and my wife got it for me as a random gift some years ago and it’s still on my shelf !!

After this it took some time for me to buy an Olight SR51 which I guess was fairly serious at the time, it lives in the holster though and I’m more interested in EDC sized lights now though I have a BLF GT, a C8 and a D4S too.

My first try at some mods, It was a Black A6, crudely removed the anodizing and made her blue, made a set of copper spacers with a drill press as my lathe and just a standard drillbit as my cutting tool :person_facepalming: and fitted a KD triple XPL-Hi triple, A6 driver for now I like it !! !!

Spacers also in alloy before polishing and finishing !!

ZozzV6, thanks for your GAW and your contributions here on the forum!
I’m not a savvy guy so I always like to learn from people that know more and do more than I do on this “flashlight enthusiast/ flashaholic world”

My last arrived lights (today) are the these 2 Sofirn C01, built with BLF input, namely djozz and some other folks around, and the openness of Sofirn as a flashlight manufacturer!

I arrived BLF searching for info about the Convoy S2+ with Biscotti, as I wanted to improve the driver on my next S2+ flashlight. Also, I wanted to improve from my Nebo Micro Redline, so, with peoples’ input I bought my second S2+, then a Manker E11, then Zanflare F1, then… My initial collection back then was like this…

I’ll never forget DB “Dale” Custom words back then [so true :money_mouth_face: ]:

Later, I lost track of the lights I bought and started modding stuff, making some reviews and since almost 2 years I got caught here, learning and enlightening myself! Thanks for your contribution for that as well!

I am in for the GAW

Here is my latest

C8 made me join BLF and find many more flashlights after

Congratulations

My first “real” flashlight was the “old C8”

Here it is next to the regular C8
Finding a new driver and LED for the old C8 was my first post here on BLF.
A lot has happened since then

And here is my latest. The new #1 EDC

Zebralight H600Fd III

My latest flashlights are Amutorch AX3, Wuben E05 and Folomov 18650S.

My first really powerful flashlight was Sky Ray King with three LEDs of about 2,000 lumens. The passion for powerful flashlights has begun, today I have about 120 pieces in my collection. I have about 10 different chargers, although one or two would be enough. It’s crazy. BLF Forum I watch every day, it’s one of the first pages I watch every morning.

My first really powerful flashlight.

Thanks for the giveaway —- Please count me in

My latest flashlight was the C01 (one in each tint). I’ve added trit vials too. :+1:

My favourite in the DS4, which I’ve upgraded with Andúril

But my first, the one that got me started, was the BLF A6

I’ve got a D4 that I want to upgrade to Andúril, but for that I need to get some soldering equipment —- looks like I’m hooked now.

Congratulations ZozzV6 for your 2000 posts.

My latest flashlight “is” a virence’s jetusolis 5K and 6.5K (ordered a couple of days ago). Don’t know when it will be assembled.

The one that made me plunge in the hobby was the programmable akoray K-109 (16340) which was amazing at the time. I wish i still got one.

I’m not sure which is my latest light, but probably Utorch S1 Mini:

My first serious flashlight was a customized Peak Eiger Ultra. It took some research before I bought it…but it didn’t lead me to the hobby.
After several years of EDCing it I decided that I wanted something brighter….and that’s what brought me here.

If I bought Eiger Ultra X from the start I would likely not arrive here. What a money saver it would have been….

Thanks for the GAW ZozzV6 and congrats on your anniversaries.

Congratulations on your 2000 posts.

My last light is the D06-1200 divelight I won in the XTAR GAW on CPF (hèhèhè).
Here seen accompanied by my trusted 4*AA Ledlenser D14 and the tiny 1*AAA Archon 75 lumen light.

The light(s) that started me modding were the BLF Eagle Eye X6 SE lights. Though it was actually far from modding. I dis- and re-assembled them according to the appearance of their parts. And I got myself a working moddable light plus a shelf-queen in mint condition.
Latter light was a prize in my 2000 post GAW. The winner took it apart as soon as he got it. To each his own.

Congrats on your 2000+ posts and thank you for the gaw !

  • My first serious flashlight was not a led one but what could be more serious than a child's love ? ;)
  • My first led mod was this one, way before blf even exist !
  • The light that made me join BLF was my first Convoy S2+ (tan, XP-L HI, biscotti one) that arrived with a "not totally functional" driver. While searching infos about what could be wrong i quickly ended here where i found a lot of usefull informations so when i decided that i was "hooked again with flashlights" it sounded like joining was the right thing to do (or not ? ;) )
  • My latest arrived flashlights are a pair of BLF-Sofirn C01. I already had some black ones that i ordered before the blue and red ones became available but i really love them and will certainly order more. The blue one is on my girlfriend's keys but here is the red :

Congratulations!

The last one in the mail was a Sofirn C01

The first serious mod for me was a BLF X6 SE triple with copper heatsink, A17DD-SO8 and XP-L V6 3C leds. All thanks to this forum:)

My latest flashlight is the Lumintop AA 2.0

My first actual flashlight was a black Convoy C8 with the original screw-in aluminum pill, XML and Smooth reflector :)
I later modded it with XML2 U2, then with a dedomed XP-G2 and afterwards with an XP-L V6.
I also stripped its anodization and installed a 12x7135 nanjg driver - which I flashed with biscotti after some time.

It's actually still used regularly for in-house lighting by my parents.

Skilhunt H03, very happy with it, i think this light has seen more use already then all my flashlights together ;).

I got into flashlights when i was a kid and someone came up with a Maglite 4D, which was unseen back then.
Nowadays we laugh at it.

for the 7A 2S buck driver, does this means it uses 2 batteries?
