I’m not sure which is my latest light, but probably Utorch S1 Mini:
My first serious flashlight was a customized Peak Eiger Ultra. It took some research before I bought it…but it didn’t lead me to the hobby.
After several years of EDCing it I decided that I wanted something brighter….and that’s what brought me here.
If I bought Eiger Ultra X from the start I would likely not arrive here. What a money saver it would have been….
Thanks for the GAW ZozzV6 and congrats on your anniversaries.
My last light is the D06-1200 divelight I won in the XTAR GAW on CPF (hèhèhè).
Here seen accompanied by my trusted 4*AA Ledlenser D14 and the tiny 1*AAA Archon 75 lumen light.
The light(s) that started me modding were the BLF Eagle Eye X6 SE lights. Though it was actually far from modding. I dis- and re-assembled them according to the appearance of their parts. And I got myself a working moddable light plus a shelf-queen in mint condition.
Latter light was a prize in my 2000 post GAW. The winner took it apart as soon as he got it. To each his own.
Congrats on your 2000+ posts and thank you for the gaw !
My first serious flashlight was not a led one but what could be more serious than a child's love ? ;)
My first led mod was this one, way before blf even exist !
The light that made me join BLF was my first Convoy S2+ (tan, XP-L HI, biscotti one) that arrived with a "not totally functional" driver. While searching infos about what could be wrong i quickly ended here where i found a lot of usefull informations so when i decided that i was "hooked again with flashlights" it sounded like joining was the right thing to do (or not ? ;) )
My latest arrived flashlights are a pair of BLF-Sofirn C01. I already had some black ones that i ordered before the blue and red ones became available but i really love them and will certainly order more. The blue one is on my girlfriend's keys but here is the red :
The last one in the mail was a Sofirn C01
The first serious mod for me was a BLF X6 SE triple with copper heatsink, A17DD-SO8 and XP-L V6 3C leds. All thanks to this forum:)
My first actual flashlight was a black Convoy C8 with the original screw-in aluminum pill, XML and Smooth reflector :)
I later modded it with XML2 U2, then with a dedomed XP-G2 and afterwards with an XP-L V6.
I also stripped its anodization and installed a 12x7135 nanjg driver - which I flashed with biscotti after some time.
It's actually still used regularly for in-house lighting by my parents.
I decided one of the prizes:
Itwill be a
Clear Convoy S2+
Stainless silver button
OP reflector
5000K Samsung LH351D 90 CRI led
2800mA 8x7135 driver
modified babka firmware:
–14 mode groups
–5 click battery level (1-to 8 blinks from empty to full) or hidden strobe and beacon (can be turned off)
–8 minute turbo stepdown to 50% (can be turned off)
6 blue led PD68 style lighted tailcap button
screw type belt clip
Thank you all!
I have a lot to do in this week and I will go to Germany to IWA Outdoor classic so I extend the giveavay some day next week until I find out the other gift flashlight. So one or two week to go and participate.
And If you be kind enough please subscribe my youtube channel and next week you will see videos from IWA. It is not necessary for the giveaway but I will thank you if you subscribe.
I’am back from IWA. And I have a very succesful road trip and I liked it a lot. I will look my lights this week. Choose the second prize and then make the randomizing.
But I wanted to say congrats on the milestones! Also to give this thread a bump. And a lovely prize, that S2+ is… nice form factor, tailcap LEDs, great LED choice, and of course, great firmware choice
My first “real” LED flashlight was the Fenix E25 (the 187 lumen version). It was a gift from my mother, and I thought it was excellent until I learned what “throw” is. Then I spiralled into the BLF world and placed my first order at MtnE: a Convoy C8 host with a 5000K XP-L HI and Qlite. The rest is history!
My most recent purchase should be here soon: my first Emisar, the D1S. To say I’m excited is an understatement. I have a 1mm Flat White and a custom 5A linear driver waiting for it.
