Banggood tracking and shipping insurance

I have 7 orders in at Banggood, and none have tracking info. Is that the norm?

Also, can anyone offer a reason to pay the shipping insurance? If I buy with a credit card and it doesn’t get here, wouldn’t I just call the credit card company and get a refund? Am I missing something?

Thanks much.

You can find some useful info in this thread: Is Banggood insurance worth paying for?

How long have the 7 orders been placed. Usually don’t get a tracking number for several days after the order. China is also going on a holiday, It may take weeks before someone touch’s your order. China shuts down during this holiday and I do mean almost everything is closed.
You got about 4 days for it to leave there or its probably stuck for 2 weeks.

1. Sometimes it will show as it doesnt have tracking but if you go into your order details you will se the tracking number. If not, you can message banggood and ask for one.

2. No need for insurance if you pay with paypal and credit card.

Thanks guys. I have been doing the free shipping so that usually doesn’t have tracking it seems.

nah there is no reason to pay any insurance… u are covered either if with paypal or credit card. also if free shipping it will use the slower air mail it can take a few weeks or whatever to usa -just give it some time and have some coffee.

Is it worth to pay more and purchase shipping with tracking?

How good is their tracking? Do they actually show detailed tracking to your mailbox or just “dropped of at customs” or “delivered to the country of destination”

I don’t find it worth it to pay for tracking or insurance. Tracking is sketchy at best and insurance is just a reason to get a few more pennies from you. It will make it to you with or without either. If it doesn’t you have PayPal or CC backing to worry about it. They promise to ship you a product, they enter into a contract with said shipper, they are responsible if you package doesn’t arrive, not you.

Pay with PayPal and forget about it. Just when you think they screwed you it will be in the mailbox.

I have made more than 130 orders on sites like Aliexpress and Banggood in the last years, always chosing the cheapest shipping method avaliable. Only one package didn’t arrive, got full refund for it. Most of them had some kind of tracking, simple as you said - “dropped of at customs” or “delivered to the country of destination”. Few had more detailed information.

But the only thing it’s useful for is when it get stuck in the customs and you need to pay some tax or fee to release it - Brazilian mail can charge $3,50 for any package being imported or 60% on any package over $100 - or when you need to pick it up at the mail, then the tracking tells you to do that.

Almost all packets have arrived, so even choosing the cheapest shipping there was no issues. As said, if you have some guarantee like paying with PayPal, it should be ok.

That’s assuring thank you to both of you.
