Was, yes. They shipped a bunch to BLF and Italian CPF users for quality control and it failed design review for the reasons you recall.
From what I read above, they adopted the fixes users at the flashlight forums pointed out are needed. One would hope any now for sale have the design improvements. If not, easy enough to do.
The head still rattles when you shake the light though. Inept copying of a better flashlight.
I certainly was not the first one to pull the trigger on this deal.
It is still on back-order and all search commands lead to a Cometa that is sold out.
So maybe this will be a really really long wait.
Please let me know if any of you get a shipping confirmation or even receive your lights.
Even the BLF A6 is now on back-order. The funny part, I already got my 0,78 € cashback for this order.

I ordered BLF A6 and Cometa and it’s also on Back Order for me, even though it was available when I ordered it. I’m not sure but I think the Cometa was available from a UK warehouse.
Now you are coming to the funny bits :innocent: all incl. insurance.
If the TG06S is ordered from the Chinese warehouse, it will cost me € 8.94
If the TG06S was ordered form the EU warehouse (UK), it would cost me €12.26
The TG06S plus free GIFT I ordered from the EU warehouse has cost me €13.69
And I’ve read in another thread that there will be no partial refund if the order is split up and partial cancelled, because the cancelled part of the order AKA THE GIFT was FREE :person_facepalming:

So I ordered the ThorFire from CN, and cancelled the ThorFire plus free GIFT from UK.
Interesting part: I could not resist myself and thought, what if I repurchase the order I just cancelled.
Well for one, there was no free Cometa included in the repurchase. QED.
This reminds me of former deals within car parts where expensive tuning parts were “given away” if the MOQ was high enough. Apparently nobody got these extra deals except a few fake accounts on forums the sellers created

However, we shall wait and see and not judge prematurely… maybe we’ll see the gift.

Nothing wrong in sharing deals - nobody can know what sellers in Asia or eBay are up to. This specific scenario is a bit odd because free gifts can not be enforced via a chargeback or PP.
But we have good community reps on here and I am sure they don’t want to destroy any potential business. I really believe BLF members spend an extraordinary amount of money per month across all large China shippers. That should mean something.
You were not wrong. You focussed our attention to a deal offered by a seller. Kudos for that.

Most people were interested in the Cometa and accepted the Thorfire or the A6 as “collateral damage”.
With me it was the other way around. Amazon never offered a nice deal on a ThorFire with shipping to Europe.
Only today I found out that BG offered the TG06S in a good deal from the CN warehouse, so I bought that one and cancelled the gift-deal with the Cometa.
EDIT: got an email saying the “ThorFire only” was shipped, 10 hours after ordering (yes I know it’s CNY).
I’m not so sure about that since the A6 alone, without the “free gift” is cheaper than the one with the “free gift”, paypal isn’t stupid.
I’m sure they’d side with a loyal PP user vs an asian wholesaler who gets multiple chargebacks (for valid reasons) a day.
You are right, PP have extended buyer protection in recent time. Especially for intangible goods and digital items as well.
No, you were not wrong doing this, I for one enjoyed getting this deal, (now canceled) thank you.
And let me try to explain my position.
I like good deals that is why I jumped in,
now, I don’t need a 3rd A6 or a free Cometa.
But what I need least of all is the felling that banggood screwed me over.
This feeling is hard to shake and I am having a good/lucky run with banggood ATM.

It seems to me, after a live chat session, that their system does not support this kind of offers.
-They cannot put an order on ‘hold’ or ‘do not ship’ or ‘do not split’ status.
- The system will automatically split and ship after a few days, no way around it.
- No refund for gift items.

I can see why a combination of Serlite’s post and the back order status have got people worried but as it stands there’s nothing different about this order for me yet then other orders i’ve placed with Chinese sellers, i’ve had stuff go on back order before, and i have experienced long processing delays without any indication as to why, but have always received the order eventually. Tbone gives a nice explanation here: Buyer Beware: "Gift" Items on Banggood.com - #20 by TBone of why this might happen which makes sense to me.
If there is an issue with the free gifts being cancelled i’ll deal with it when it happens, the only indication of this though is Serlite’s post and while that’s a cr*p thing to happen to him, and while i think he’s right to share his experience, one swallow doesn’t make a spring. (In fact i’m surprised that anyone believes that any number of swallows could make a spring, if there was going to be bird with any kind of metalworking potential it’d be the magpie.)
Until now I had one processing and one back order.
Now it’s both processing.
So there is some change.
Both still in one order changed from back order to processing.
