Lumintop GT4

Hello M4DM4X,

If it is possible at any time, please make Lumintop consider one (or more) Neutral White variant as well.

No one made a high CRI flashlight of this size, yet - my suggestion would be: 4500K CCT and 90 CRI. While XHP70.2 90 CRI is not especially good at rendering deep reds (rates around 50 for R9, while R9050 rated Nichias do usually over 65), still it would be a step up in this league (as an usual R70 ‘standard CRI’ emitter has negative values for R9), and it is not much lower in output /M2 vs P2 performance bin/)

+1… it’s perdy… I need a new shiny thing for 2019… sign me up.

While this is a super light, I think it would be cool to have an XHP 35 HI version. Could possibly get over 10000-12000 lumens and throw a lot farther…

I have also considered an XHP35 version, although I expect lumens to be more in the ~8k range based on the GT output.

Basically it would be GT70 output levels and most likely GT70 dedomed throw levels as well. So all you would really gain in the better tint of the XHP35. Not sure if there would be enough of a market to make it worth it.

Aaaand better heat management. I think with 4 XHP35 HI it will stay cool until batteries die.

That light looks amazing! Can’t wait until it’s finished

Think he said XHP35 HI version. For HI's, think it should throw in the range of the original BLF GT according to what others posted about reflector widths of single vs. multi LED/reflectors, but 4 times the lumens.

As Texas Ace mentioned, it would just be better to put in a dedomed XHP70.2 instead of 4x XHP35HIs with a quad reflector.

Simpler, easier to do, and better regulation with a powerful buck driver.

Yeah, it should be a bit less then the normal GT, which is about what the GT70 does when dedomed in my testing.

Yes… or, the throw of the original GT, but with 4X the hot spot. I have even considered doing this mod myself, even making a custom spacer that held four separate MCPCBs at a slight angle to each other radially, to effect a much wider hot spot at long range than simply having four coplanar emitters.

they should do both xhp35 and 70 versions for those that want either throw or more lumens. acebeams x65 need some competition anyways.

I’m all in for an Acebeam X65 competitor!

I was just looking at a 4 x xhp35-HI version of the Q8. If you use a driver like Lexels Buck unit it is limited to 8A total, so that is 2A to each emitter. If xhp35-HI, then maybe you would get 6,500 to 7,000 lumen. I’m just guessing here. Maybe the HD version would be higher, but you lose throw.

In exchange for the reduced power consumption, you get a smaller hot spot. Maybe that’s a good tradeoff?

The X65 seems to have a 1500 meter throw range with 5 leds. I wonder if the GT4 can match that?

It could be good for some people, the issue is how many would sell? I am not sure there would be enough sales for them to make this version of the light.

They generally make batches of 500 lights at a time. I highly doubt that 500 XHP35 GT4’s would sell when most would go for the XHP70 version.

If the demand was there it could happen for sure but more then likely this will be a case for custom mods. Luckily this would be a fairly simple custom mod to do, all you would need are some ~26mm+ 3535 mcpcb’s and you could DIY it with XHP35’s without a lot of trouble.

Although personally I think I would go with Boost HX LED’s if I was going to do that once they are available. You can simply run them in series and DIY it just as easy assuming they can stand up to the FET driver. If not then a re-flash with a limited max output should work like the 219C.

That Acebeam X65 doesn't make sense - 12K lumens is not right from qty 5 of those LED's - should be more like 10K lumens. The 423 kcd rated throw sounds low to me, considering head width of 108 mm and high amps to the XHP 35 HI's. Wonder if anyone reviewed/tested this light?

I modded a BOSS1 (100 mm head diam) with direct wiring, dedomed XPL, and got over 700 kcd.

Also I've gotten over 500 kcd on modded Shockers, a 106 mm head diam, 3 C8 size reflectors, dedomed XM-L2's.

According to Maukka: 10,500lm @ 30s, 584kcd

Maukka tested one on BLF, but that was before he got his Lisun sphere and fancier equipment. With an older sphere and no calibrated light it was about 11k lumen at turn on and 10,500 at 30 seconds. I just asked him if he ever retested it using his newer equipment.

He measured about 587kcd or 1532 meters.

Seems like you guys would use this light for some sort of Lumen drag racing. How about sustained usage above 0-60seconds?

R90C already beats the X65 in both output and throw

Yeah, but that’s an Imalent. :confounded:
