What made you choose the luxeon v2 over all the other swap options available? And what method did you use to reflow?

I like them, best 5000k tint I’ve found yet. I usually reflow with hot air from below but for this one I did it on my glass cooktop.

Know this topic has been discussed a lot, but just adding to it.

Got two new 40t batteries. On the left is what came with my E07, Two on the right are the new ones.
Can see the height difference.

That looks like it would be very difficult to clip onto anything in a bezel-down orientation for deep carry. The lip of the clip, where fabric should slide under, seems to be blocked by the smallest heat fin. Is it as difficult to use as it appears?

It works better than the clip it came with bezel down cause the original clip was so tight I had to struggle with it to slide over anything. The Olight clip, being longer, is easier to lift and slide into my pocket bezel down. But because the head of this light is bigger than the battery tube I MUCH prefer bezel up. It makes it much easier to pull out and return to pocket without fighting getting past the larger bezel. Plus I get to look down anytime and see those cool aux lights and see the light is not on. Others notice it also and inquire about it. Pretty cool:) I remember one time my Olight h2r turned on in my pocket and scorched my leg and burned a hole in my pants Facepalm . That’s the day I started doing mechanical lockout on that guy Big Smile This also solves that issue. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still dreaming of this design, but haven’t found or tried making it, yet……

Wow, sure is a lot of complaining about this light. I’m very happy with all three of mine. I use them for work though, and don’t over analyze every detail.

I can’t believe people buy a light with the highest turbo lumen rating in its class and then complain that it gets hot quick!?!? Buy a Maglite if you want to run all day without the option of awesomeness.

Dull the fins if you feel that they are too sharp. I don’t think mine were that bad, but I rounded the edges with a nail file just to see if it would help. Didn’t take much at all to dull the edges, and I like the sort of worn look it created. They’re like a worn in comfy pair of jeans.

As for the lack of heat path (yet it still heats up too quick???), I don’t run in turbo or high levels long enough for it to matter. The flood on this thing is insane, and I find that running it too high causes a bright hotspot in front of me, and quickly ruins my night vision. Unless you are pointing the light up at something, or down from somewhere very high up, it’s almost impossibly to not blind yourself. A more focused beam is definitely better at these lumen levels IMO.

Only thing I don’t like is the lack of an anti roll with the clip removed.

You were fine. You stated both the pros and cons. I don’t think he was strictly referring to you about complaints.

Thanks for the video

Are you complaining about our complaining? Wink I think most of the complaints here help the think tank come up with solutions like brainstorming. Plus addresses issues some come across that others didn’t know about. Hell, that’s why I’m here in the first place. To hear the good, the bad, the fixes, the mods, the ideas, the issues, the pics….. There are sooo many lights available, this is the best place to find out about brands and model you have never heard of and what’s coming out before it’s even out. I love it Beer

A lot of these “complaints” seem to actually be opinions. Mushy bottom, sharp cooling fins, crappy pocket clip, green tint, the anodizing doesn’t match in some lighting situations…. It’s just something to consider. A palm size light putting out over 3000 lumens! Of course its going to freakin get hot! That’s a given…..

I don’t think FF is listening to our complaints or suggestions anymore.

Looks like they haven’t logged into BLF in almost 3 weeks!

Exactly! These kinds of specs weren’t even possible just a few years ago, so I can see how maybe some people thought that this light wasn’t based in reality and that the normal laws of physics didn’t apply! Big Smile

About Fireflies not logging on for 3 weeks, have people forgotten about the CNY?

No, it actually started January 15th, with people starting to go to where they need to go.

Love your clown intro shot. So, do you like the sst20 or xpl better? Tint vs output? Is there a noticeable difference? I hear the sst20 have better throw. Can you tell on yours?
