16340 light for keychain

That’s a good recommendation, the Lumintop’s dimensions look really good and the design looks slick. It’s a bit colorful for my taste, I wonder if I can find it in a solid color…

An earlier model of that light has been discontinued for a while now. The Lumintop Torpedo 007. You can find them used pop up from time to time. Here is a link for it but it’s not actually in stock. If you like it better you might want to post a “Want To Buy” here on BLF and maybe someone will have one they will let go of.

Although I became to like and have more 16340 size lights in the past few months (On the Road M1, M3 Pro and i3) I use a Rovyvon Aurora flashlight in my keychain!

It is super lightweight and if you don’t use it for extended periods of time (due to battery runtime) I would tell you to get one of those!

If you want a 16340, the new Fenix lights seem nice, and you have the Olights as well! Also, if you don’t need long runtimes, check the new Folomov with 10440, reviewed here by jon_slider and zeroair !!

Trustfire Mini-02 is a CR123A light, but very nice stainless steel keychain light. The body is fairly thick, which is unusual for stainless steel flashlights these days. I don’t know if 16340 is “supported”, but it does work. This light has been around a very long time. But it’s still being sold at least on Alibaba and on eBay and one listing on Amazon.

Remember at Fasttech use their pulldown menu for the list of available models — they’re not all out of stock.

Wow! That’s a pretty light!

Enogear used to have something like this Lumintop and even one bullet shaped that would be nice as keychain lights.
However their site has been off for a while :frowning:

BTW, Massdrop has this 16340 light: Massdrop Path Convertible CR123 Pocket Flashlight | Flashlights | Small Flashlights | Drop

It doesn’t have a lanyard hole, but has a deep carry clip!

Thanks for all of the recommendations - the Lumintop from fastech looks like almost exactly what I have in mind. I’m gonna read over a couple reviews and probably pick one up.

The Rovyvon Aurora is a bit different, but now I’m tempted to get one of those too

If you like moonlight, high CRI and some extras on the side (UV light + RED light + White light), and if you don’t like Strobes, I’d recommend the RovyVon Aurora A8! :+1:

Unno, for a keychain light, bouncing around in a pocket with other crap that can press in random places, I’d prefer a twisty to try to prevent accidental activation. So for me, a Jet-II would be about perfect for a 16340 light.

Some of the Wuben E-series come in 16340s as well as 14500s, so czech ’em out, too.

Funny(?), but every time I see your handle, I read it as “Mr Steal Your Organs”. Visions of waking up in a bathtub filled with ice are rather disturbing, I gotta admit.

Are you referring to the RovyVon?
So far they have been “pocket activation proof”:

Press&Hold for momentary Turbo
Double click for moonlight (and clicks to advance modes)
Triple click & 4 clicks to activate the side LEDs

I’ve been using it for a while and it didn’t lit up a single time. I can’t say the same for my Nitefox K3 (twisty) and even the Olight i3T EOS (Forward clicky switch).

Unless if locked (electronically or physically), the Wubens will have more probability to turn ON in a pocket as they use single click to turn ON in the last used mode!

Tank 007 E18
I have a few of these. Three mode twisty. Turns on in the the same mode you turned it off in.(at least mine does) Unfortunately one mode is strobe but it has less weight that a stainless light and is pretty well made for the money.

Being that I don’t have any nor are even familiar with them, I’d say no.

The Wubens I’m referring to are twisties, 2-stage switch. Light twist turns it on, tighter turns it on brighter.

These come in gold, pink, other fancy colors in addition to black.

Like these, I think…

To me, they’re too pretty to get scuffed up in a pocket filled with loose change, keys, etc., but if anyone really wants to…

Ahah, sorry, thought you were talking about the possibilities of having a side switch button turning on in the pocket :stuck_out_tongue:

Ahh, those!! They seem nicely built and very reliable. I was tempted to get one a while ago in a groupbuy from _ the _but never went through. Would be a nice choice, though!

Here are some more ideas for mrstealyourgains:

And this, from member X3:

Look what he did to carry the S1 Mini  Quite nice

WTB flashlight that can detect when it’s in your pocket and not turn on even when the button is pressed.

i would seriously consider this

it is great, i have one and love it, super simple, small and light

$2.36!

not sure if they are the same now, mine was 3-4 year ago, looks the same though, mine even has a great neutral white color light and a nice pattern
really!

Sign me up for a box full of those. I’ll pay double.

> not turn on

How about a sliding or rotating cover to protect the power button?
Like the threaded ring that Zanflare uses to cover its USB port.
Make it so closing the cover turns the light off ……

Nah. Even my MH20 that’s clipped to the inside of my pocket, I always do a TCLO.

That’s why I like twisties for in-pocket carrying (when I did it). A twisty is a TCLOed light!

Well, except at the head, not the tail. Y’all know what I mean, though.

Believe it or not, I had that discussion with someone, who suggested a “foreskin light”. :confounded:

No. Just… no.
