(I hope I’m doing this the right way. I apologize if I was not supposed to create a new thread but I didn’t see a thread that seemed to be dedicated to reviews for MTNElectronics)

I have placed several orders through MTNE and have always been very pleased with their products and service. I once forgot to add some batteries to an order and they kindly walked me through the process of fixing my order and not having to pay extra shipping. Around Christmas I had an order get delayed from another retailer. I had originally went with the other retailer only because MTNE was out of stock of the LED I needed. I placed an order at the last minute with MTNE when I saw that they got the LED back in stock and realized the other retailer was not going to come through by Christmas. MTNE got my package to me on time and saved Christmas!

I can’t recommend them highly enough.

MTN thread is here: MTN Electronics: LEDs - Batteries - Lights - Chargers - Hosts - Drivers - Components - 1-Stop-US Source
Richard used to be more active here, but I think he is just so busy now.

Thank you Mike C. I did see that thread but I wasn’t sure if that was where I supposed to post what was strictly a review. I thought maybe it was more for communication with Richard than communication about him and his business. Either way thanks for the link and the assistance.

Hmm, I guess your right, mostly a communications thread. Doesn’t matter though, can’t say enough good about MTN, I’ve always had excellent service

Totally agree and they always were the best and I placed many orders with them! Answering emails now is almost nonexistent. I received a rechargeable Lithium battery from them awhile back that arrived leaking. Another member here also had one that was leaking. Reporting this got nothing from folks here but defending them and that’s fine!

I didn’t ask for a refund or replacement or anything, just wanted to let them know in case any more of these might be sent out. Didn’t receive a reply. Sent the warning again, but no reply.

Haven’t ordered anything since then but good luck!

Richard has always been one of us.He took the best of BLF and made it available to the public .His knowledge came from BLF and he's done it better than anyone could have. Giving great service ,nice prices ,local access to tons of parts ,custom builds, hand made drivers , helpful info and an overall great member . He's as good as it gets .

I’m just wondering if his reply’s might have ended up in your spam folder.
Just doesn’t sound like Richard to not reply at all, a couple days late yes, but no reply at all. :person_facepalming:

The only complaint I’ve had is that about 50% of the time, their packages get scheduled to arrive on a Sunday. I’m not sure if it’s a special service they request or what because I get a lot of packages and the only other ones that are ever delivered by USPS on a Sunday are from Amazon, which I know is due to a special agreement. It sounds great in theory, except I rarely plan to be at home on Sunday to wait for packages, so they often get left outside for a pretty long time until I get back. I also am not keen to plan my Sunday around this, even if I were going to be around, because about 50% of those times I have a package scheduled for Sunday delivery, my lazy postman marks the tracking as “delivered” on Sunday but actually physically drops it off the following Monday anyway.

Nope, didn’t end up in my spam folder. I go through those intensively. Look, I’m not slamming Richard or his company here. I’ve been a fan for years. I just received total silence about the leaker and found it strange as his wife always answered my emails in the past.

Like I said, I just wanted them aware they had some bad cells in their inventory.

Ordered from MTN many times and it was pretty fast/easy.

Gebe,
I really cannot speak for Richard here but I also wonder if Moderator007 might be on to something. My work email is finicky about what it will allow through. So I have some emails they don’t go into my spam folder but just get blocked altogether (It’s a school email so nothing that I would expect to be too tight). I have a gmail account that seems to be much more slack and have had to use it on occasion when responses have been blocked. What’s particularly strange to me is that on a few occasions through phone calls with people I have determined that some emails will get blocked and others not, though they are all from the same sender and I had added the address to my contact list. That’s the trouble with no responses. It can be hard to tell where the fault lies. Email blocked (either original or reply), typed and clicked ‘send’ but email just deleted and not sent (I’ve had that once or twice too), typo in address field, etc. I say all this to possibly help you with the “strangeness” of it and possibly find a solution, as well as a reminder to all of us as to why giving others the benefit of the doubt is a good modus operandi.

I suggested just sending the battery back ..It wouldn't be something they could miss . But it's probably true if you just send them a well written letter /a P.M. and maybe a pigeon. maybe try a different email address maybe yours is in his spam box ???

Nah, would not send a leaking 18650 back. Especially since he doesn’t have any uses for it.

I do wonder how it leaked though…

It must have been physical damage from shipping, not from storage.

I would just request another cell, or a refund for his time.
