I have found manker in regional store, a bit more expensive but warranty included so i think it will be it. What you think Jon? You told me not to listen to you but what you suggest ? Its cooler white than lumintop i think but i dont think it will be such a difference.
I like the 0.5 lumen low, and the N219b, I dont know what makes you say it is cooler than the lumintop
I dont care for the aggressive bezel, thats a pocket tearer to me
also,
this is a 1 lumen low, and I think it starts on low, although its 219c, and I prefer 219b because it is less green tinted
were getting closer
now you get to think about body styles, my vote would be for a smooth body, the manker body unfortunately is not my personal preference
Yeah i saw preon also cool with Warm price.
I meant that manker has cooler light colour, more like 5k
To be honest, when u mentioned agressive look, im thinking again to give up low-mid-high setup and stay with iyp365. Good quality, price, ok its not the top juyi etc. But do the job. You mentioned 219c and i see they are not making b now? Damn…
Modder told me that aaa size driver are a weakspot and its better to use classic 18650 size. That’s interesting. I will analyze all those we have and compare, good to have free weekend. Thanks everyone !
All in all, after comparing and some thinking, i stay with IYP365 brass option. + To check i ordered BLF Juyi Twisty. Clemence was out of my budget. Zebra a bit too agressive, same manker. Thanks everyone for everything. Hope all of you will find your best light.
I’m a bit late to the party, but I’ll add my comment anyway. I’m a ‘penlight’ nut, and have several.
I just tried comparing the Thrunite Ti4 (neutral) with my IYP365 (219b) - the Thrunite has a far better low, and it’s ‘first in the sequence’. I tried looking into the emitters as if I were doing an eye exam; the IYP is downright painful, while the Thrunite is quite tolerable. This was in a normally lit room, so my pupils would already be somewhat smaller.
The tint of the IYP is undeniably more desirable when compared side by side, but the Thrunite isn’t really all that bad.
I also have some FourSevens Preon 2A’s. One in particular has their briefly offered warm emitter, which is a remarkably pleasant tint, but again low is not nearly low enough.
If I were doing eye exams, I’d have to choose the Ti4. If it were graced with a 219b, it would be as close to perfection as one could find.
The heads swap either way on the tool and the iyp365 I like the smooth heads better on the tool which I use much more often then I use the iyp. I like a bunch of people am sad that they went 219C vs the 219B. IMHO it's a neat little trick to get a better low mode and makes the Nichia Tool a more useful light .I've edc'd a Tool like this on and off for that past few years.Super light weight ,good feel in the hand, firm snappy clicky . You get used to the M/L/H driver the more you use it and it's obviously much better in a clicky vs a twisty light
Hey doc, still around? Working extra as bouncer and security guard I’ve built a ton of flashlights but I’m also studying medicine and recently got tinkering with making a doc-light for use with pupil check and ENT. Would a Convoy S2 work? It got a pretty deep reflector so beam could be focused enough!? The warmest tint I got at home was a xp-g3 3a 5000k led but I got xp-g3 5c 4000k on order from fasttech too. Never built Nichia so will have to investigate a bit more about that. Found one at kaidomain that could fit if the usual attiny13 7135 drivers work with Nichia.
Well i used few times my solarforce mod with 3 tir optic nichias. Was good enought. It has nice tint and super weak moon mode like 0.04 lumens. I assume you have smo reflector? I bought S2+ with nice tint and yes it could do the trick since the beam IMO is not a big deal. You may just change the direction to examine oral cavity. Big deal is to cut the power down. My S2+ on lowest mode is still too strong to directly shoot the eye for me ofc. 4000K should be ok Excuse me od there is an error somewhere but headache is killing me today
Power is not a problem as I build the lights myself. Running the xp-g3 at around 10mA seems to work fine. Never used Nichia but think I’ll order some. The Convoy S2 got a deeper reflector than S2+ so the beam is more focused. So S2 would be better than S2+ right?! And my S2 bought on fasttech got op reflector meaning the beam will be better I think, less rings and more even. Should be better right? I don’t got equipment for getting lumens so I’m only checking current. Was thinking around 10mA for pupil check and 40mA for ENT. Dunno if that helps?
Edit: From what I could find Nichia219c work fine with 7135 drivers so I think I’m ordering a few of these.
For your convenience Beam should be small enought to not hit both eyes. That’s would be Perfect yes Beam should be better in OP reflector. you have your own pupils, in my humble opiniom it should be weak enought to be tolerable to see. Pupil reflex needs very little light to work. Specialy im darkness. No need for lightthrower
