Any update on this ?
I tried searching in here and didn’t see an answer. Should we get flat or button top for this light?
Thanks for the suggestion on a cell.

teacher: gtxxl:Hello which 14500, 3.7V Li ion cell is best suited GT micro feeler, how much mA is good ?
I am going to use THESE, by Windyfire …. because I have them. But mostly because they are great cells. They come flattop or button top… I have some of both.
.
Windyfire 14500 IMR 600mAh - Flat TopUnprotected, flat top. This is one of the best “high drain” 14500 cells available, outperforming even the venerable AW and Efest 14500 cells—check out the discharge comparison picture!

I can’t say for sure, I would ’think’ either one would work. Maybe M4D M4X can answer that question.
the driver has a raised button with 5mm diameter - so i think most cells would work
but if the shrink does cover the button ....
I think a button flat Cell, on the driver can work.
From the looks, a button top is safest. That might be large enough to go off the edges of a flat top contact. There’s enough room in the spring travel for a couple mm of length?
That’s a 5mm button on the driver, a flat top cell is easily 8mm inside the wrap, no problem.
The cut offs on the via’s are at a minimum 8.6mm, and they should be below the level of the button anyway….

look here Lumintop GT micro interest list
Lumintop GT micro interest list Hello my dear friends! The Lumintop GT micro is near! [image] Unfortunately the driver cannot offer the additional AA / NiMh compatibility without adding downsides as: low power in AA/NiMh config + HIGH parasitic drain + with 14500 its turbo only So Lumintop decided to stay with the GT micro in the footsteps of the BLF GT: single LED – HIGH output – HIGH throw (for its size) (the Narsil AA/NiMh/14500 design is not burried…. there are more proje…
Saw on facebook that according to Neal its ready to order from him now…

Is anyone able to tell me what size MCPCB and driver this light uses?
I’m keen to try a white flat in it. Having not used a white flat yet, would it be ok with the stock driver in this light or would I need to swap it out with a lower current regulated driver?

Ideally you want a 12x7135 driver with e-switch control and those are not common. The stock direct driver could work fairly well because 14500 batteries show more voltage sag than 18650 batteries.

I did not measure it but it seemed a little smaller then a normal 16mm mcpcb. I think you could sand down a 16mm mcpcb to fit though.
A white flat was donated to me recently. Once I know I am done with the prototype I plan to install one in the GT micro if I can make the mcpcb fit.
