What is the consensus on whether this has happened, and what was the most problem free version? I suspect I should wait at least three more months but wanted to see if anyone with more knowledge than me knows if a better E07 is out there. I know that the bare aluminium version has manufacturing improvements but have also seen problems still being reported.

do u mean the problems with no thermal paste ?

Sadly FireFlies has not been on BLF in a month and, if I searched right, no posts here at all and last updated the OP on Dec 21st, so...

Just the BLF presence, least for now. This isn't so unusual around here with the manufacturers.

Hello everyone I know this is not the right place to ask for mods or whatever.. im kind of in the new side of buying the E07 and I want to know if i can mod the light just a little.. gonna buy a titanium cap that is slightly bigger than the battery cap on the E07 and a flat coin type magnet to have magnet on the tailcap.. do ya’ll think it’s a good idea or heck nope

I think you should test your idea first with the magnet you intend to buy and some tape. The E07 is pretty top heavy so you will want a pretty strong magnet.

Yeah, places it in the “heck nope” category. JMO of course. Wink

You could just JB Weld a rare earth magnet to the end of the stock tail cap. I’ve seen it a few times in a Zebralight mod thread. Didn’t look too bad IMO.

Another option is to buy an Emisar D4s for when you want a magnetic tail cap. Great light that’s right up there with my E07.

Thanks! I didn’t make it with flashlight forums in mind, but I think that it fits nicely.

He may not be here but he’s taking care of things bit by bit. I received my replacement light a few days ago.

OK, at this point I would not recommend ordering an E07 from Fireflies or Nealsgadgets.

I ordered a version that was showed to be in stock from Nealsgadgets back on February 3. I paid for the “Express 7-9 day shipping”.
My Paypal account was charged on February 10. On the 12th, I emailed to see if it had been shipped, as I had not received any “shipped” notification (9 days after the order). No response.
It has now been 17 days since I ordered, and 10 days since they’ve charged my card, but no shipping information and no response to the three emails I have sent requesting an update.

Honestly, I don’t mind waiting if the light is out of stock or there are other issues. However, a simple response to the inquiry letting me know would seem to be the most basic of business practices.
Is it time to open a dispute with Paypal?

When I ordered my second E07 from Fireflies with expedited shipping, they never sent me the tracking number. After a couple weeks I sent an email to Fireflies asking why my light hadn’t shipped yet, but the very next day it arrived.

Apparently it had shipped, they just hadn’t sent the number.

I had a similar experience, but Neil did respond several times that he was going to ship but never got a tracking #. I later ordered directly from fireflies and received a tracking number in about a week. After this I emailed Neil again about fireflies already shipping there’s that I ordered way after his and almost immediately received his tracking number. I paid for expedited shipping and it arrived in 3 days. It took a little over a month to get the fireflies light with free shipping. Neil gets his lights from fireflies directly. So that’s the wait part of buying from him. But once he gives you that tracking number you better be ready cause it comes FAST!

China buys are slow, especially during their New Year holiday. It’s better to buy and forget so you don’t drive yourself crazy . ( easier said than done ) Wink

So Neal is waiting for Fireflies to ship to him?
That seems to make the “5-8 days shipping” a little disingenuous. Should be stated, “will reduce whatever the shipping time will be, between 1-3 months, by 5-8 days”.
I was aware of the Chinese New year situation, as it stated on Neal’s site that they would shut down “from February 1-10”. That banner was changed later to say February 1-13”. I guess I was just expecting some notification by now.

Neal just acts a middlehand having his own store, so i guess whne he is out of lights he must wait until FF sends him a new batch of lights to him ? i guess they do business different in china.

Well luckily I ordered both before the Chinese New Year holiday. That appears to have thrown a monkey wrench into many customers orders.

I’m still waiting on my order too. I ordered Dec 21st from Fireflies and received a shipping notice around Dec 25th. The tracking number still just says “International item has left originating country and is en route to Canada” so who knows when it’ll actually get here.

I put an order in on New Year’s Day and another on Jan 2nd. Standard shipping. Both arrived in Canada a month ago.

Yeah I kinda figure if I don’t get at least a reply within the next week or so I’ll have to file a paypal dispute.

Anyone with a calibrated tube/sphere have a nichia e07? What is the 1×7135 lumens? The mode that comes on after you redo the tail cap by default.
