[♛ FreemeGB] Amutorch TC500 (upgraded) 2200lm* 21700/18650 Flashlight Group Buy - ACTIVE

There are total of 4 emitter options to choose from.

  1. Luminus SST40 CW
  2. Philips Luxeon NW
  3. XP-L HI CW
  4. XP-L HI NW

Ordered NW. Thanks, Freeme

Is the XP-L HI NW 4000K or 5000K?

XP-L HI NW 4800K

Curious what Luxeon means (maybe Luxeon V but no manufacturer has ever used it to my knowledge) and what type of driver it will have. I assume a FET driver with the output listed.

It’s a Luxeon V, with a FET driver.

Guess who owned Lumileds until 2017? Philips.

Philips still owns 20% of Luxeon, so it is probably using a Luxeon V.

I can guess as well as you, but confirmation with more specs is nice. New trend of doing pre-orders before any details are released is not good IMO

Ordered one brown/ Nat today thanks for your work on this.

I’m holding off on my order until a few get shipped and we actually see a review. I got burned on the Haikelite SC26 pre-order and now have 2 flashlights collecting dust on my shelf.

  • What are the specs on the driver? Glued in or retainer ring?
  • What is the diameter of the driver?
  • What is the diameter of the MCPCB?
  • What is the diameter of the reflector emitter hole?

is it luxeon v2 led or v1?

No news yet.

It’s pretty obvious it’s using a Luxeon V.

It’s the only other Lumileds emitter that could do this on DD without being a Luxeon MZ.

Still, I’m quite interested in the light. Please send in the code freeme.

I am interested x 2

What are differences in tints below. Please advise.

Luminus SST40 CW
Philips Luxeon NW
XP-L HI CW
XP-L HI NW

If not DD, I am interested in the SST40 version.

Interested, can you give a description of how is the lumens and throw for each LED type?

I know XPL-Hi is throwy, and should be something like 1000-1300 lumens (basing from other flashlights using XPL-Hi)
Luminus SST40 is a mixed flood/throw LED (probably similar to XHP50.2), with around 2000-2200 lumens (basing from other flashlights with this LED).

I’m not familiar with the Philips Luxeon LED — how is the lumens and the throw compared to the XPL-Hi and SST40?

Shouldn’t SST-40 be the same as XML2 die-size-wise?
