Command 5000 lumens cheaply.

Did not take a picture but I saw at the local hardware store 5000 lumen flood bulbs for around $20.00-$25.00
Made by Feit.

Goggled around, found lots of refs to 5000K, but not 5000lm. Boo, hiss…

Yeh, got my attention 264…where’s the beef? LOL

bet that puppy would like the bottom of an Apollo re-entry capsule hangin out of a flood fixture.

Good God….264 was right !!

The Brightest LED Bulb Of 2023 - Reactual

Thanks Streamer!

And don’t forget to check out the 29,189 lumen Cob light for only $170 at above link….WOW !!

Yeah, I saw that, but unfortunately don’t have a use for it… yet! :smiling_imp:

I did manage to find the Feit 2500 lumen screw-in E27 type flood light. Maybe 264 can link to the 5000 lumen version.

I will go to the store Tuesday and take lots of pictures. For some reason I can not find it online.

The thing with COB is its often not spreading the light in a 360° angle

Philips Trueforce is better in that 5000Lumens from 3x boards with many small LEDs

If this is good enough I will forgo the hardware Tuesday!

Found the 4K lumen version:

Found a Feit 10K lumens bulb.

Hard to find a superbright one good for outdoors… Maybe time to get better fixtures for outside anyways….

Osram have a new range out of high output bulbs they look so beefy massive heat sinks.

This one is 36w LED 3200 lumens but they are huge in person like maybe 4 times the size of normal bulb.

I’ve seen a similar light also. The ones I’ve seen aren’t 5000 lumens but are 4000 lumen 300W LEDs for $50 CDN

I wonder how FEIT rates the bulb shown in the previous post at 4000 lumens. It looks like the LEDs are SMD 5630 and there are four segments of 10 each. The usual rating for the SMD 5630 is 50 lumens driven at 150 mA @ 2.8-3.4V so my math indicates the output would be 2000 lumens, not 4000.

It’s nice to see corn bulbs actually beginning to show up in the US market though the price for them at Home Depot is beyond the pale. I bought a couple of large corn bulbs from Banggood a few years ago using 102 of the less efficient SMD 3528 LEDs for around $10. So bright you did not want to look directly at the bulb. Since then a lot of much more compact corn bulbs have shown up using SMD 5630 and SMD 3014 LEDs. They were all priced around $5 or less (on ebay) and not a single bulb has failed after a couple of years in use. Many of them use the SMD 3014 in arrays of 36 to 72 LEDs for an output of 10-13 lumens per LED. They are great for use in table lamps.

If you go to the official FEIT website they list a dozen different flood lights. The brightest is 1000 lumens and is available in 3000K or 5000K Flood Lighting and Spotlight Light Bulbs - Feit Electric.

Umm…….there is another solution.

Y Socket splitter….dirt cheap……I use them in a lot of fixtures because I find the 100w equivalent tend to fail faster. So I use 60 watt’ers, dirt cheap at HD.

And my favorite……4 bulb. Two in the garage with 60’s. 800x4=3200 lumens each.

And lumi’nuts….

I use dirt cheap LED bulbs. You can use floods for even MORE control lighting. 4x100w equals to 4800 lumen and bulbs up here are cheap. Plus if one burns out, who cares.

I have the Sansi 40W 5k, 5000lm for my garden flood light and the Sansi 27W 4000lm 3000k bulb for our laundry and living room. Color temps on both of them seem to be accurate and they are nice and bright.

I compared the Sansi 27W 4000 lumens bulb to my 16W 1600 lumens led bulb and it is visually twice as bright easy if not more. Technically lumens is supposed be X4 to get twice the brightness but it seems that is not always the case. Anyway, they seem to make great bulbs.
