Eagletac D3A Titanium any thoughts ?

Head is still screwed on the tube

Zebralight has unibody with press fit lens cover
but not this light

I have been looking at this too as I would like a Ti or SS, deep-pocket carry light with a robust clip and this and the D25C seem to fit the bill. Never tried Eagletac before and kind of expensive so still in “mull” mode.

Lexel thanks for that I didn’t know that. Peg the D25C is a great small light with excellent output, I have that light. I was just looking for a AA like my D25c but wanted one of the older models thinking the head on this D3a didn’t come off. Eagtac lights are very good yes more than some but good quality. You can buy cheaper AA lights though and I have some of those also. Thorfire has one on Amazon 20%off so around 12.00 and change but not Titanium.

OK good to know you like Eagletac. I have Tool 2.0 already and another small light or two so so main reason I am looking is Ti and deep-carry clip.

Any feedback from someone who has this light?

Why are you looking at the D3A instead of the D25A or D25C?
I’m just asking — I don’t get the difference, if any.
The D25A neutral would be my favorite AA pocket light that works well on eneloops (as well as lithium ion) — except that you can’t lock out the blinkies on these models.

Hatman, I have a D25C but wanted something that takes AA in Ti too. Thanks

Thanks…… You know the D25A and D25C also come in Ti.
I have both.
If you want a D25A Ti and can’t find one, I think I have one still in box, since I’ve been using my black instead.

Yes I have the d25c in ti. I might have found a d25a in ti too but I’ll pm you. Thanks

I’m also looking at the EagleTac. Should I buy the D3A or the D25A? And why?

D25A is more compat I think .
I love mine, Aluminum version with 219C.
It’s my EDC, I love being able to switch from Moonlight to Turbo BEFORE turning it ON !

At the end of this Eagtac spec page for the D25A mkII Ti, on the right hand side:
“* D25A Ti head is made in one piece, and therefore its glass lens is not user replaceable.”

The D25A mkII comes in aluminium with a special edition Ti edition, the D3A is Ti only, but the only difference i can see between the D3A and the D25A mkII Ti is the body, the heads look the same. Haven’t seen them in person to confirm that though.

I have a 219C too as a spare, love the beam and tint, i think it’s the best option. But i’m too paranoid to EDC it in case i lose it so EDC my warm white XM-L D25A with a TIR lens instead

I’ve used a D25A daily for the last 7 years, in that time i’ve lost one and broken one (trying a different reflector, didn’t pay attention, shorted the driver out, no more light :frowning: ), couldn’t see anything better to replace them with than another D25A, and still can’t. Other than an alu mkII.

Wow good to know

Thanks for the info. I’m looking at the titanium version btw. :sunglasses:

You may want to take a look at this: Sold: Eagletac D25a Ti XP-L HI

Probably going to stop by Going Gear on Friday and pick up a D3A Ti.

Hi, all. Any other input on the D3A Nichia 219C? I have an Amazon gift card to use and this has my attention. I’d probably opt for the D25A MkII, but I can’t find one on Amazon.

My main concerns are:

- PWM: I’ve seen reports that there is PWM, but it may only be when using 14500?

  • non-replaceable lens: any issues with the AR coating causing tint shift?

Thanks for any help.

I’ve got one with the XM-L2, awesome little light. I carry it at work everyday, it only works with button top cells JSYK. The new 1000mah vapecells I bought will not work in them. No worry for me because I can use them in other lights. I haven’t had any issues with PWM and I only use 14500 cells with it.

Word of caution, I don’t think Amazon is an authorized dealer so if you have issues with the light you could be SOL.

I have one with a xp-l hi which is very good it has more throw than the others. I also have a D25a mk2 with Nichia 219 c which i have carry every day and i use eneloop pros and have no problems.

Thank you both.
