ALL THINGS BUDGET KNIVES

Thanks for the link, much appreciated…. :+1:

Vouking Stedemon TS05 knives 30% off on Amazon. Makes them pretty affordable. Amazon ad doesn’t have much information included so I stuck a BladeHQ ad in there as well with all the pertinent info.

The Pico would be a decent design without that huge gap between the handle and the lock-bar.
After having a couple of frame-lock Ganzos and Sanrenmu Lands all of my frame-lock Kershaws look quite ridiculous.
That’s like the Grand Canyon compared to the Ganzo G722 or G742.

Hadn’t noticed that before. I don’t have the knife anymore so I can’t lay eyeballs on it. It was just one of the only two Kershaws I had at that moment. I did just look at a Sanrenmu, CRKT, and Ganzo frame locks here in my little knife box next to the computer and none of those have that huge of a gap.

Although I’m a tip-up carry guy I tend to edc my frame-lock Kershaws tip-down just to hide the gap by the pocket clip.

I picked up the Ganzo 758. Nice knife. A bit big. I’d love to see Ganzo do a clone of the Calmigo. I think that’s perfect sized/styled knife.

We’ll see what life is like with a knife this big in the pocket all the time. I have a feeling I still may end up with Kershaw Turismo, Pico or Ember.

758 is the Protech-lookalike auto, correct? Where did you manage to find it?

The 7582 does bare quite the resemblance to the ProTech TR-4, yes.

Like I said, if Ganzo did a Calmigo copy I’d be all about that.

After reviewing it I decided to refine my “Rubicon” a bit. So I reprofiled the edge after adding a sharpening notch to the blade then I smoothed the edges of the backspacer and the G10 scales. I also chamfered the edges of the opening hole.

Excellent tune-up. I am very pleased with this blade and can’t believe the fine quality at such a bargain price.

Thanks for the great photos and review.

Are there any budget knives with bushing pivots? Like the Sebenza 21? A bushing pivot has an additional bushing that the pivot tightens against, instead of the blade. So you can tighten it without increasing friction in the pivot.

@ Man Without Shadow …. What knife is that please? Link appreciated if you have one.

You’re welcome! At this price there’s nothing to complain about.

I have the G10 version of this Zieba style front flipper:

A new Brother 1609g knife is listed on gearbest.

I don't know what Spyderco model it is a look-alike of, if any.
