[alive: M4D deal] jetbeam RRT1 950 Lumen

That’s the difference between these two control ring lights.
V11R has to be flipped or hand hold changed to hit the switch but remains at what ever level the control ring is set to.
RRT01 doesn’t require anything but the turn of the ring for on and off but always starts in moonlight, no memory so to speak.

Each design has its own advantages. V11R on/off is tail switch controlled, so your hand will be in a specific orientation. You then have to change it to adjust intensity (or use your other hand). But then you have on/off control with a fixed output. RRT-01 has only one control, so you’re always holding it in one orientation for on/off and intensity. If you’re used to having a sequential set of fixed brightness levels, it’s a very different feel. Some people may simply not like it.

I prefer the RRT-01, KISS!

for those who dont like KISS, there is also the HDS Rotary…
has a tailswitch, and a Rotary dial at the tail (flipping optional, I do),
its regulated, has memory, and can be programmed for fixed brightness levels too…
for people that can live without a deep carry pocket clip,
and get turned on by reading manuals about multi-clicking

Anyone know what emitter is being used in this?

YES

Stupid me, I should have checked battery junction before asking. :person_facepalming:

there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers… LOL

happy to share info… I specialize in reading technical manuals and transferring key info to people with more productive things to do with their time

now, please share the motivation behind your question… why you asked…

inquiring minds wonder… what do you plan to use the information for?

Interested!

Haha, I was being more sarcastic than anything. Who would have thought to look at Battery Junction when the info should have been in the OP? If it turns out to be an xpg3, I won’t order it. Isn’t that the old version at BJ and in the OP?

lol, me too brother

the info IS in the first post, but why rub it in?

and fwiw, no, both BJ and the OP are showing the new version
here is a visual aide

I signed up. Always liked these lights since I did an early mod on the original several years back, think updating an XML to an XM-L2.

I saw that post. The old one looks “fatter” to me, which is why I was confused

the old one is on the bottom

the new one is 1/8” larger diameter, and 26 grams heavier

Like the tail trit slots on the new one

I like the tail design too!

Humanized Tail maybe = HumanCentricDesigned Tail: use as a
Candle,
Lantern,
Nightlight,
Locator
Impress your Friends!

I wish I could buy the light with trits already installed!
(Im sure thats a logistical nightmare for the vendor… lol)

I ordered 3 of these during new year sale. https://www.fasttech.com/p/4159008
I’m just hoping they fit from the measurements I took.

Those slots are 12 mm long? I was think'n they were for the std 1.5x6 mm size, but from the pics, they have to be longer than 6 certainly, so probably the 12 mm size you ordered.

The new version looks much sexier to me. Too bad it’s likely way out of my budget, even with the group by discount.

The 2x12mm trit slots will not fit the RRT01 without modification, there a little to long. 2x10mm should fit fine.

Would 2.5x10 trits fit?
