Don’t worry, I actually did the test investigating the possibility of the new VR20SP3. The focus will be adjustable by shimming.

Clemence, since you have not made the triple e21a, can we wishlist individual addressable LEDs on it?
Done! It’s seriiies/parallel/iindiividual addressable

Good news :+1: , I will be probably in for several of them.
Can you make it Jaxman E2L compatible (I mean, leaving the possibility of sanding of the edge of MCPCB to make it only 19mm diameter)?
Also, will there be VR20S1 MCPCB as well (for both single E21A and 144AM)?
19mm is not a common size. It’s better I custom make it from VR20SP3, there should enough margin to do that.
No plan for VR20S1, after this VR20SP3, the next MCPCB will be VR38SP16,
Tip: You can convert existing VR21SP4 to single E21A use by scraping the solder mask.

- Hopefully triple Carclo compatible E21A MCPCB can also keep up not long after. Still need more funds for that.

I’ll jump-start for the VR20SP3 then
thanks Clemence.
VR38SP16 will be insane! Gonna get some of your new creations from you for sure.

Do you know, what host(s) and optics support that board?

So far I found Jaxman X6 (XHP70.2) is decent host for it

Awesome! Tint mixing+color is first thought but there has to be a ton more ideas this would bring.
UPDATE 190301: Store news
- A new batch of E21A order placed to Nichia two days ago. There will be full line-ups of E21A coming. ETA, mid March
Very nice! That is a really great range of options!
What’s the flux bin of the sm353 and sm403?

I hope somebody will be able to produce a ‘soda can’ build with this
(but maybe Jaxman X6 is more suitable to produce higher sustained output)

I have my eye on a specific light to be used as a host. Waiting patiently for this board to be for sale
D240
no thanks, it may look natural and be slightly brighter but it’s too green in my opinion.
But mixing 2*sm353 with 2*sm453 should result in a nice 4000K with a rosy tint.
The E21A D220 definitely have a much nicer rosier tint than the D240 version. But the D240 measures 15% brighter in my lumen tube.
If one wants lumens he shouldn’t buy a E21A custom in the first place. The D240 looks very natural in the higher modes but that’s it, in the lower and low-medium modes the tint is bad and unacceptable, 15% more output doesn’t make than any less of an issue. Even the 80CRI XPL-HI 5D with a slightly rosy duv of about –0,0020 makes the D240 E21A look green at about any level.

I agree with you, I like my 4xE21A 4000k D220 Tiara Pro more than my 4xE21A 4000k D240 Tiara Pro. The D220 version looks nearly identical in tint to the 219B 4000k 9080 that Clemence was selling.
