Convoy L6... XHP70 Beast!

I’m not good at making changes. And I do not have the necessary equipment.
If I want bigger power and bigger distance, then I’ll buy the future Astrolux MF04s  (mf04 am already)

I can not wait to get the Convoy. :smiling_imp:

I built my lumen tube myself. No diffusers. I don’t have Maukka’s calibration lights yet. But I will buy and then adjust my google tables according to that. But after a lot of measuring I think I am not off the scale more than 10%. I measured flashlights lower and some rare times higher thean manufacturer estimates.

Prepare for an awakening….

its like

mode 1 50 lumens
mode 2 300 lumens
mode 3 1200 lumens
mode 4 3000+ lumens

something like that… its the easiest flashlight ever to use.

You think so? I find it a real pain with 2 buttons that require different hand positions to turn on and change levels. Simple to understand, but hard to use.

its all relative jasonww

New videos or reviews with new L6 ?

Reached.
As a first impression compared to Thorfire:
-I miss the illuminated led button.
-I miss the moon mode with 1 lumen.
-Feels smaller and lighter (a plus)

- He’s about 50-100m away.

- He’s about 10% stronger.
-I can open the lid, at Thorfire I could not.
I noticed that I have some dust on the mirror inside, and a small transparent patch (like glue) inside the lens. It’s small, it only shows when the flashlight is turned on the first way and you look from the side. Before I started it I did not see it.

  • In HIGH mode, a strange sound (bzzz) sounds, after the turbo mode is active, is no longer heard.

It’s not perfect, but at this price I’m happy.
It’s a balanced lantern, it has great power, enough distance, it’s flood and spot.

Sorry for my english

Update L6 XHP 70.2:

-distance: 600-685m

beamshots ?

There’s tons of them. People have been putting the SMO reflector and 70.2 in their L6 for a long time now.

Yes yes
A little at the limit (600-685m), I measured on google maps.
But 400-500m is perfect.

lol jason :open_mouth:

Question for those more knowledgeable about drivers: I’m going to swap in one of the mountainelectronics FET+7135 Drivers into my L6 (for both the ramping UI and to drive it a lot harder), but am wondering what the effect on efficiency is going to be?

At levels higher than the regulated single 7135’s current but still low relative to turbo/high, will it still be relatively efficient or am I going to be giving up significant battery life due to the driver?

Hello all.
I heard voices saying that it would be advisable to have subtitles in the film because the Polish language is hardly known to anyone. I made a test film with subtitles - a walk with Convoy L6 XHP 70.2 from Simon.

Do you like something like that or would you change anything ?
I would be grateful for the response.
Best Regards !

Simple mod question about the L6. Is it worth it to change the XHP70 in the original with an XHP70.2? I have not made any other mods to the light and i do not intend to. It has OP reflector.

No. You gain 3-400 lumens and a bit worse tint. But the output increase is not noticable only if you looking them side by side. If you do a resistor mod also maybe it worth.

I can somewhat understand Polish if spoken slowly, so the subtitles definitely added to the video.

Also, quite often in videos people sometimes speak “away” from the microphone, making it hard to hear/understand what’s being said, so subs would definitely add in those cases, too.

Currently, only some of the films have been recorded without a microphone, most of them have been recorded a long time ago, but I want to publish them.
Okay, with subtitles I will be slow and add as much as possible.
Thank you for your feedback.
