ALL THINGS BUDGET KNIVES

Hello

I’ve had the same issue but I was reading about it before I’ve bought it on the bay for $43
The trick is to keep your fingers away from the lockbar. That happens with some framelock folders, the SRM 9103/4 is such an example.

When the finger is out of the way mine flips like a dream, even better after I disassembled it and cleaned out the grease.
The biggest issue I have with it is the clip though, it should be closer to the back of the handle instead if laying over the framelock relief.
This way it’s a real seam catcher which makes it difficult to draw. I’ve sanded away a bit but afterwards I couldn’t get such a nice anodisation.

Maybe it will get a rock pattern someday, right after my SRM 813 has its carbon fiber scale

It’s a replica of replica of Michael Zieba Gentleman’s G-2 knife  With very soft steel.

I have replica from CH Outdoors, named as ZiebR (Zieba Replica) with HSS steel 1.3343 (not ZDP 189, but so close), 62 HRC:

CH Outdoors 3504 D2 G10

CH Outdoors 3504 Titan Blue S35VN

Thank you for the info MaksVasilev!! :+1: . Good looking knife & great pictures too.

TwoSun TS20

Not exactly budget but, a nice knife on Massdrop. Brad Zinker Dogtooth, multiple handle materials available. Lefty version too. $119 and up.

I think I got the affiliate type link removed from the address.

That is a well-built knife!

O rings that’s interesting.

THESE are on sale again at GearBest.
I got one of these several weeks ago & then they sold out. GB just listed them again. I’m hoping they are the same quality as my first one.

In 25+ years of buying knives, this is probably the best deal I have ever run across. This little jewel is one heck of a knife.

The only con is a clip that must be bent in a couple of strategic places to allow it fo function properly. No big deal at all though.

You lose if you miss this one…… .

7.7cm D2 blade and a G10 handle:

Thank you. Grabbed a couple. One to keep and one for a gift.

Your welcome. :+1: … I got enough this time to have gifts covered for a while.

Can you show before/after on the bends please?
Thanks!

I grabbed a couple, thanks. If they are as good as the kwaiken version I’ll be more than pleased.

Your welcome. My prediction, based on the first one I got; is that you will be “more than pleased.

Let us know what you think when you get them. :+1:

Does this knife run on washers?
Thanks

I have not disassembled mine to see. I can tell you it opens as smooth as glass & there is no blade play.
Fit n’ finish is about as close to perfect as possible.
Great edge holding. I have been trying to dull the one I have by cutting old miscellaneous cardboard boxes I had/have. No luck yet, it still shaves hair off my arm. I have cut +well over+150 yards of cardboard at this point. The 150 yards is a conservative estimate too.

At $9.99 it’s a nobrainer. Quite possibly the ’deal of the century’ as far as I am concerned! . :+1: .

@ Muto … Before & after?? Yep, I’ll do that as soon as my next one arrives. I’ll get the “before” & then bend it to show the after.

It is just bending the tip of fhe clip up a bit so it slides easier onto the edge of the pocket.

And then two very slight bends up at the top, just down from where it attaches to the knife; to give it more room to accommodate a Blue Jean pocket: which is usuall thicker material than dress pants.

It could even be the clip on the only one I have was misformed all along I guess. I just didn’t/don’t have a second knife to compare it to at this time.

I was concerned the clip might break while bending, but the first one did not. :+1:

Are these legit knives or just decent clones?
