Had a chuckle when I posted this. Every watch is within a second….but one outlier. So much for my “set them within seconds”. Lol
I don’t have an expensive watch as a daily wearer because I’m too obsessed with damaging it. So they lay hidden away….and why I bought them is plain vanity.
All my daily wearers. The cheapest is the center Citizen and that is my travel watch. Otherwise, in town, I just take whatever suits the star alignments from the 4 on the right.
Believe it or not, the dress watch on the far left is a Timex sub brand that is 15 years old and keeps about 10 seconds a year.
I like what you did with the case. Nice combo with the NATO color.
I think I’m going to do that with another Citizen like the center one in my collection.
BTW…I saw plenty of Rolex but no love for ICW? I was looking at the Top Gun and sighing. My evil other kept reminding me…“are you going to buy it and hide it”? Grrrrr…

What’s about your Bertucci? Do you like it? Is it comfortable to wear?
I really like the look of those Bertucci watches but I haven’t had the opportunity to have a closer look at them IRL.
The Bertucchi is very, very comfortable to wear and it is very light because it’s titanium. Highly recommend it. Bought mine about seven years ago. Get the long life battery movement and sapphire.
If you look carefully, you will notice that I also cut my NATOs second “under” strap and it reduces the height, stiffness and rotation. Makes the NATO even more comfortable. If the watch slips, I sew a few stitches of clear, thin fishing line to hold them in place. It’s invisible from the top.
The center Citizen is really cheap and great watch but I don’t like the flat top bezel. If I sandblast it, it should mute it and make the watch more “military tool”.
I like your Seiko, it looks like the Bertucchi. There is nothing better then a clear, easy to see, “no trillion little numbers” on it watch. A time telling tool.
The best looking watch I ever saw……and I’m going to put it “if I sell that” list.
To make it even more “perfect” I would of left in the seconds hand and extended the hour/minute hand a tad more. But still…at $700, not obscenely expensive and I probably the only watch where I would wear it to stare at it! lol
Ordered a nite HAWK 300T in carbon fiber impregnated polycarbonate with blue tritium hour markers and orange hands and bezel pip, I like it a lot, but it’s really large and I find it somewhat uncomfortable to wear. So I ordered the smaller SS cased Alpha with T100 markers. Hasn’t arrived yet… so now I’m in a dilemma. Return the HAWK or keep it?

To keep the Hawk, or not to keep the Hawk, that is the question… (I also bought a 316 SS band in black PVD coating to go on the Hawk, it is a semi mesh link band and really looks awesome, still have it in the package as I’m undecided what to do.
That Chrono is a bit on the pricey side Spartan but with it’s feature set I may well have been seduced into purchasing one had I found it first. The ETA movement is a nice bargaining point, temperature and barometric pressure reading capability probably would have sold me…
Bought myself a Skmei 1134 Negative display in black. A G-Shock lookalike.
All the markings were a bit garish to me.
Decided to try to remove them to make it a bit more “stealthy” and get it as black as possible, but basically arsed it up. More or less ruined the glass (well, plastic) but managed to salvage it to some degree with toothpaste.
Then I got some CF vinyl which I cut out to apply to the face.
Then thought “balls to it” and gave it a good seeing to with some sandpaper, knives, files and a bit of a tap with a bolster to give it a, erm, lived in look.
So the watch is now a G-Rat.
My mates think it is horrendous but I like it. And I liked fiddling on with it.
Got my nite Alpha yesterday. Nice watch, gonna love this one! Took it in a closet to see if I could determine whether or not it would be too bright, it has T100 Tritium vials which are 4 times brighter than the T25’s I have seen before. Seemed good, clearly visible but not obnoxious. Well, overnight I learned that it’s quite bright with night adjusted eyes! lol It easily puts a glow on my hand or the headboard from a foot or more away.

i had a national semiconductor tritium LCD watch back in the 80s, it lasted about 15 years and got too faint to see any more at night

I know they say the T25 can last 25 years, the T100 is said to last 50. These are from the leader in the technology, mb-technologies in Switzerland… they have now been at it for 50 years supplying Military
If you like that one, this may also grab your attention.
It hits ever single dream feature….titanium, digital data and timing, rough service, sapphire glass. Sadly, it was only issued to the German military stationed in Afganistan. I missed the boat on grabbing a few on the resale market.
I like digital date and timing because the analog will never be as accurate and easy to read. On the other hand, nothing beats analog to “scan” the time.
As for the other one you like, it is a visual treat for me. It shouts form AND function by a engineer/designer who has aesthetic taste. Look at my BLF Sabre, same thing. It looks great but it does so by also trying to solve the heat issue. I have more flashlight designs that solve, or at least try to solve heat issues of 50,000 lumens. And looks like an alien artifact in form. But sadly….
Oh well….back to watches. If I sell a big ticket item, I’m going to buy that watch.
