Tomorrow, March 14, is Pi Day

Ya know, the lowercase Greek letter π, Pi, the one that = 3.14159265359……

Where I am there are both pizza (oie) specials and bakery pie specials available at $3.14,or in the case of a big pie a $3.14 discount, plus other fun stuff. Boston Market has a buy one pot pie and get a second free special.

Q? Is Pi Day celebrated in other countries? Or just a US marketing ploy?

Oh. I forgot! I’ll have to check around and see what deals I can find tomorrow. I haven’t seen anything advertised in my area yet. But I love all kinds of pies!

Kroger (Smith’s where I am) has a bakery pie special

I used to live in a town that had a Kroger. But there aren’t any around here.

Hmmm, we used to to π Day at work, but haven’t in a while.

when is HrPi day?

Heck yeah, Pi Day!

I didn’t realize commercial places recognize it. I usually celebrate by baking a couple pies and taking them into work. Hmm… apple, lemon meringue, French silk, key lime… gosh, now I’m hungry!

I’ve not seen it celebrated here but l am partial to a good meat pie.

MicroStore has the 0W on sale for 5bux (qty 1), if anyone wants.

Probably pick up one ’cause I can’t find the one I did have all Ubuntued.

A Chocolate and a Lattice-top Cherry in the oven. Mmm, can’t wait

Now that you mention it I had forgotten how much I used toenjoy meat pies… used to grab one (or two) for lunch virtually everyday when I lived on the Isle of Man for a summer. Dang, now I am hungry…

Ohhh yeah, fresh out of the oven (chocolate hasn’t been topped yet)

Congrats to those who will celebrate Pi Day tomorrow
I’ll wait for 31st of April for the turn

Hmmm …… chocolate π. I’m getting tingly all over. All my decimals go berserk.

Isn’t this just the anniversary of π day which was in 1592?

Today is 14/03 here so doesn’t really work, as Lumizella says we have to wait until 31/4.

Happy π day though!

Everybody is wrong. It’s National Potato Chip Day !! :stuck_out_tongue:

Pi and Chips day?
That’s my supper sorted then.

Oh, and it seems a Google employee has just calculated Pi to 31 trillion digits! Mind-blowing. Now, who’s going to check her figures…

[dusting off my abacus…]

I’d check her figures before her math.

if there’s a Pi day then surely there’s a Phi day (pronounced feee, as in the golden triangle and building blocks of the closed or open universe, which ever the big wigs decide at the time to be more relevant).

we have two for one days in the uk pitza houses, usualy run by Afghanis with a rather good knack for pitzas.(or Pakistani,Indian…Iranian Iraqi Greek French, even one Australian dinner…but i’ve yet to find an actual Italian in a pitza house. This eventually led to me thinking that maybe it isn’t actually an Italian food?)
