Any Formula 1 fans?

Let me give you a complete summary of all positive properties of mr. Alonso. He’s an excellent driver.

Who is the greatest driver from the recent era? 2000 until today?

Obviously… Taking into account the results… The numbers… Should be Schumi…

Charlie Waiting… RIP

Do you mean Charlie Whiting? Can’t believe he is gone….not many original legends around F1 left anymore….

Yes. Very sad.

Now lets see if F1 changes in any way

Another F1 fan over here…

Australia tests: Mercedes is back!

Count me in.
Dedicated Kubica fan. Unfortunately, a huge talent with little luck. I wish Kubica was given a chance in a competitive car. Now he says he knows the aim, but there’s nobody to race against. (All other cars are in different league)

I might watch a race if I see on on the telly, but not a fan. F1 seems to all about regulations, tire management and strategy rather than pure driving. I know it’s those very things that make it interesting for many, but me, I’m too dumb for that stuff, I just like speed so I’m much more into WRC. Those guys are just crazy heading into blind corners at those speeds based purely on what the co-driver is saying.

Your point was easy to predict Mike C. Sweden seems to be way more successful in rallies than in F1 (so is Poland). But your natural environment allows you to practice drifting with every ride for shopping
Clarkson was even laughing that Swedish housemaids are drifting on snow when going to grocery shop :smiling_imp:

I am a F1 fan… But I stopped watching it on tv about year 2016 .

I dont like the v6 turbo engines.

I really love v10 and v8.

And supremacy of only one team… Is pathetic.

Since 2010… Too bad.

Redbull

Mercedes.

Always the same.

I miss fights such as 2003-2007… Lot of drivers could win. Not just the one with the perfect car.

They were funny races.

Since about 2010 and specially since 2015… Many many boring races were you can know who is going to win even before qualifying

I guess that’s true… But I do have a Swedish colleague that watches F1 on two different TVs at the same time for better coverage while sitting with a laptop receiving live lap time updates, so I guess there is always the exception

I remember the 2007 New Zealand rally: 18 stages, 330 km, and Gronholm wins over Loeb with a 0.3 second margin. I’ve never been anywhere near as close to the edge of my seat when watching F1.

Remember Erik Carlsson? Always drove for Saab in the 60’s. Sometimes known as “Carlson on the roof”

F1 nowadays is boring.
I miss MP4/6 McLaren Honda sound  no ABS, no TC, manual gearbox. Just listen.
Great times when drivers skills really mattered.

Put today’s drivers in those cars, they will sh*t their pants.
Mike

Qualifying starts in under three hours.

You have been away for a little. It’s……
Mercedes….
Ferrari……
Mercedes….
Ferarri……
Red Bull….
Red Bull…. if Red Bull doesn’t crash each other out. Not really but it seems that way. Also depends on who makes it through turn 1.

It’s a shame he passed away. He was touted as one of the best drivers of his time. Would have had an amazing career.

Just finished with supercross and now on to F1. Late night for me. Already 1:20 a.m. CST.

Dang it. Ricciardo is a DNF again. I would really like to see him win his home Grand Prix once. It hurts when he doesn’t even finish, let alone get onto the podium. C’est la vie.

Couldn’t stay awake long enough to watch it. The entire pre-race show was like 80% commercials.

We watch using the F1 TV website streaming feed. It cost $50 for a year subscription, on sale pre-season; now $100 for the year… also available on a monthly basis. Access to all practice and qualifying as well as the race with NO commercials at all. Plus you can view all the races on replay from this year after they run as well as for previous years back to 1981, I think. We gave up cable and sat TV because we didn’t watch enough other stuff. This works for us, maybe not everyone.

On a PC with Win10 it only works with Chrome or Edge browsers. Also works on apps on Android and iPhone. We run the race itself on a big flat screen TV and then run some separate stats feeds, course positions and onboard camera views on laptops. :person_facepalming:
