[♛ FreemeGB] Fireflies E07 7* Nichia/ SST20/ XP-L HI Emitters 21700 Flashlight Group Buy -【 New Copper+Titanium 】

My 219B version started acting weird. Click turn on and it blinks one to a high mode and dims to moonlight. If I try to ramp it up, it will also drop back down to moonlight. Sometimes clicking on the button have no effect at all. Cannot even turn it off.

Jacky responded in three days and said he will send me a new one. :+1: I will buy the copper one so he can send them together.

Clad to hear that.

one clear aluminium body with copper head please:-)
Jens

Yes, clear aluminium body with copper head

I would like all copper for the best dissipation of heat. Thank you. Or aluminum and copper.

That’s what I used to think too but it’ll add significant weight for not much additional heat shedding. The majority of the heat shedding is done in the head so copper head makes good sense but body not that much. Also copper will sink heat so fast, it will make it uncomfortable for your hands to hold if the body is copper too. I’m not against full copper body but just copper head seems good enough.

Interested in copper

SKV89: I don’t think that copper head would make a huge difference. It’s not about better, it about pretty

Actually it does make a huge difference in turbo runtime. I compared S2+ copper with S2+ aluminum using same pill, the copper can maintain the turbo much longer, maybe twice as long but it also takes much longer to cool back down. Copper also helps with heat shedding since heat transfers to the surface faster but the difference it makes is probably not too significant.

Seems like the copper would cool down faster than the aluminum.

it’s more conductive, not more emissive, but it’s going to do a better job of extending turbo with a thermal cutoff, it always does

It also has a much higher density.

Even though copper actually has a lower thermal mass per weight compared to aluminium, it’s so dense it actually eclipses aluminium in both thermal conductivity and mass.

I think heat conductivity works both ways, as it’s only one thing. It’s how fast the material transfers energy through it. The processes of heating and cooling down both involve energy transfer. But if we were talking two heatsinks of the exact same size, I could see the much heavier copper taking a little longer to fully cool down because it has much more mass to it, but that’s only if more energy was ran through it in the first place (ie 2 minutes of turbo vs 1 minute)

If we took copper and aluminum and allow both to absorb the heat from turbo for the same time, the higher thermal conductivity of copper means it should completely shed its heat faster than aluminum.

In that same manner though, if the copper were exposed to a level of heat that didn’t oversaturate it within seconds (turbo output), I would imagine it could allow the light to sustain a higher level of constant brightness than the aluminum heatsink.

Copper head + clear aluminium body for me, depending on final price.

I would be interested in aluminum w copper head too, but QC issues would have to be worked out.

I will wait and see before I pull the trigger on FF lights going forward.

Same here. Would like to see PIC’s as proof also… a copper core pressed into an Aluminum finned head might have been better, it works really quite well in my 19 amp 4200lm 3v 50.2 IRA.

But I sure like that Copper head!!!

Did a copper pill X6 3v 50.2 also…it’s quite Heavy…

Depending on price, interested in clear aluminum + copper head, though I’d like to know the price breakdowns for full copper or TI body. 5000k XP-L HI with red secondaries if at all possible.

hm saw on Neals fb they discontinued nichia ?

Interested for one clear aluminium body with copper head!

Id buy a copper head+clear ano body for sure.

Ill be buying the copper+ti if not too expensive.
