Code posted 2 dazed ago? Too dazed to go.

Yep, late to the party happens sometimes.
Ya’ snooze, ya’ loose……

Even if I link this page to my devices, up here we get hit with extra charges to get a light from Amazon.com

I have a few Amazon.ca links for certain lights on all my devices, so I don’t miss them. But the first thing I do before I post it here is buy it so you Yankees wont storm the sales barricades!

/\ … Smart move… :+1: .

LiFePO4 Battery: The advanced lithium iron phosphate battery is widely used in electric bus due to its safety. 2000 charge/discharge cycles and the battery life is up to 10 years.
Multi-Protection: When under-voltage, over-voltage, over-load, over-temperature and short-circuit occurs, the unit will shut down automatically to ensure safety.
Clean Power: No gasoline required. Environmentally and no acid or heavy metals inside.

Edited. Tks.

This very attractive power bank is rated at 166 Wh. Does that mean it could run a 150 watt - 115 V AC appliance for about one hours? A 100 Watt - 12 V DC appliance for about 1.5 hours? Thanks!

Edited again:

The conversion from 12 V DC to 110 V AC would cause about 10% power loss right?

Third edit:

Is the stated 51875 mAh capacity realistic for eight LiFePO4 batteries? That would equate to about 6400 mAh per battery.

I like that power bank as well… I’m concerned about only having an 8 month standby time… if that is true, that is some pretty bad standby drain.

1100- 1500mAh is what I would expect for these. Times 8 is half what I get from a 20,000 power bank that can fit in a large pocket and cost >$40

Had to take a chance and order one of these. Says made of aluminum and plastic. Hoping it has enough aluminum to drive one of the small, throwy emitters available. Will report back when it arrives.

I cant remember where I saw it, on here or reddit but i recently saw a teardown of a similar one. it had what looked like a ~40mm thin/flat aluminum heatsink that a typical ~20mm Cree alu star was attached to. It looks like it was screwed to plastic housing though so no thermal link to body. it had a taped 18650 and one of those $1 looking charging boards dangling near the switch/usb port. i dont recall any mention of reflector or lens quality though, which is probably just as important as the aluminum mass

edit:

found it: Reddit - Dive into anything

Host is not as similar as I remembered but wouldn’t be surprised if the guts were similar.

Anyone know what cells are inside?

Got the light. Was hoping the housing around the reflector would be aluminum. That combined with the heat sink section might have been adequate to convert to a fairly serious thrower. Unfortunately, only the heat sink section is aluminum. Furthermore, the reflector diameter is no where near 120mm. The inside of the reflector is about 85mm. Out side diameter of the head would be about 120mm if one drew an imaginary circle connecting three outer anti-roll tabs (which seem completely unnecessary for this pistol shaped light. So no throw monster potential here.

That being said, I like it's form factor and light weight. It's very throwy hand held that has a sturdy multipurpose tripod attachment. The light has great ergonomics too. The switch is easy to find and operate in the dark. The host feels quite durable. Would be great for elderly folks that limited strength or range of motion. Has a large very defined hot spot that makes it more useful for seeing far down range. Spill diameter is fairly small and a bit on the dim side. Maybe due to the conical shaped plastic lens. The low mode makes it adequately usable for close range, but not ideal. Tint is pure white. No hint of blue, green, yellow, etc. UI is High, Low, Strobe, Off. Has built-in USB mini port for charging and USB port for output as a power bank. The tripod is strong and stable enough to use as a third hand when changing a flat tire and such. Seems like a good light to keep handy in the car or on top of the fridge.

The reflector is the only real heat sink as the light is constructed. It doesn't make contact with the shallow-finned aluminum section.

Both 18650's have unmarked blue wraps. Didn't feel like breaking down the power pack to see the bare cans. Best guess would be generic Chinese cells. The pack has some type of protection circuit under the big blue wrapper. I would like to determine the parasitic drain and lvp of the existing circuitry because I would like to just keep using the light as is.

Another Amazon offering you might wnt to think about — a Chinese clone, mediocre quality, of a US-designed good radio.
