Amazplus.com

Has anyone dealt with Amazplus.com? Any opinions please?

Marc.

Never heard of, but it seems their prices are awfully high! Sipik SK68 at $14.25 single mode. Ultrafire C8 Q5 (they don't even have an XM-L version) at $29.91).

Looking for a yibao lighter, they are the cheapest (just by a few pence) and it says 'in stock' although normally that's Mandarin for 'Out of stock'

see their phone number in the upper right?

i've tried to call them ( 00852 8191 7058 ). maybe all workers have left for home already, in any case i got a clear loud signal (which is rather rare with my prepaid card..) and then the message "the person you're trying to reach is not available. please leave a message after the beep". so i began with "wtf" (message left :D) and hung up.

Someone said that when they ordered a Sipik SK68 from ebay seller eletrading that they got a coupon for amazplus, so there could be a connection there. They have the SK68 for just over $7 right now and free shipping, which isn't bad:

This is rather amusing: Just as I was reading your comments about AmazPlus.com, I began to open 5 packages from them. All of the packages happened to arrive yesterday and all “signed” by a Mr. Peter Wong. All of them contain 3-mode Sipik Clones. What might be most interesting is that NONE of them were ordered from AmazPlus – nor were two or three that I had received almost a month ago.

The lights I received almost a month ago had no writing on them. So far, the two that I’ve opened today say “HWA’squiggle’WYS” in small print and “UltraFire” in larger print on one surface, and “CREE Q5” (with “Q5 in very small type) on the opposite side. Note that they all have the larger lens and the crown unscrews a good 7 or 8mm lower than it does on the single mode lights that have Sipik printed on them.

I haven’t gotten any sleep yet so additional investigation will have to wait – but we may yet get to the source of these “clones” of “clones”. Who knows, maybe we’ll be able to get someone to produce a lo-med-hi 3-mode version with our choice of led tint? Regardless, this search is turning out to be quite a lot of fun. I hope to find a camera so I can post some photos for the BLF.

Oh – for those that may be curious, these do tailstand but if the switch cover were any farther out, they wouldn’t.

So where did you order them from?

-Garry

and is the are the lens and tailcap pressed (glued) in?

Do you mean me? If so, I actually ordered from sencart.com they had it on special, £1.88! I don't know anything about them but it was worth a punt. I'll put it down as one for the team!

Marc.

Sorry marcl, I was referring to KumaBear (the post above me). He said he received packages from Amaz+ but didn't order from them.

-Garry

Thought so! No probs.

Marc.

Note: I’m posting this in the Amaz thread as well as the 3-mode Sipik thread because both groups may be interested. Is that the right thing to do???

I actually have one of those little grey bags with yet another 3-Mode I received about a month ago. The exciting part is that it had a tracking number so I should be able to trace where it came from – no such luck at the moment. (Looking for it has been a “needle in a haystack” task in my place and it hasn’t shown up yet – but it definitely was packed exactly like the ones from AmazPlus with that white reasonably dense foam (and it should show up eventually).

I’m afraid the most recent delivery with 5 separate packages of 3-Mode Clones still doesn’t definitively answer our questions. I ordered 3-Mode units from several suppliers and so far, (this month) all I have received are the ones packaged by AmazPlus. This anonymity thing is a little frustrating but I look on the bright side – thinking of the process as a treasure hunt of sorts.

Note that I ordered 3 from one supplier, 2 from another supplier, and 1 each from several more suppliers. I mistakenly thought I might be able to differentiate suppliers by the distinct manner in which I expected them to be packaged and marked – but they ALL have been identical so far! (regardless of who I ordered them from). One was definitely eletrading though and I promise to look up the others and list the links after catching up on some sleep.

About the lens being glued and/or pressed in – the answer is no (unlike my 1-Mode versions).

About the (orange) rubber/plastic tailcap switch cover – it seems to be in there rather securely. I’m afraid to pull any harder. It seems intuitively likely that there’s a better way to disassemble the rear switch/cap but remember that I’m a newbie and I’ll need some instruction. I’m assuming that the bear threaded part has to be unscrewed from the exterior black part – but I don’t know how to apply enough torque to the bare threads without damaging them.

By the way, I do have quite a few tools collected for different projects/hobbies – particularly Computer Assembly, Repair and Upgrade as well as minor disassembly of cameras, etc. I also have a decent constant temp soldering station that hasn’t been used yet – so there is hope! (All I need now is a little knowledge, a little skill and a significant amount of time.

Eh, and you didnt post the deal here, OMG WHY ?!

Sorry my friend, here you go! http://www.sencart.com/sanded-skin-flint-lighter-with-gift-box_p5068.html and http://www.sencart.com/Sanded-Skin-Flint-Lighter-with-Gift-Box_p5069.html

Dang, those look pimped out for that price, still cant force myself into buying a lighter yet

At that price, Free shipping, just get one ordered! It would be rude not to.

By the way they are very good apparently, not junk and come with a lifetime warranty! For £1.88 WTF?

Marc.
