Xeno R7

If you actually need a flashlight to do useful work the Xeno R7 fits the bill. It has both a good flood beam with a decent hotspot. Reverse clicky switch. Always turns on in high mode. Sequence is H/M/L. Blinkies are hidden. Well made lanyard with a metal clip. Flashlight itself is not too large or small. Can tail stand with no problem. XML-2 emitter. Rated at 550 lumens in high mode. 180 lumens medium mode. 13 lumens low. Rated to survive a 4 meter drop. No PWM. Picture of beam is 14 inches from wall. If I climbed mountains, explored caves, was in the middle of nowhere this is the flashlight I would want. My quest for the perfect 18650 flashlight is over. I am sure many might not like this flashlight for silly reasons. I do not care.

That 6th photo had me wondering about a button that said LED on it.

Looks like a tank light.

I don’t care for EDC lights to start on high, but for a work light I like it. If its a light you use on high the most it just makes sense to start on high.

You are just seeing part of the name brand through the lanyard attachment ring. It is definitely a work light. Some of the flashlights over the years just seemed like they could short out or break at any moment. This one seems like it can be used roughley or like the old Timex watch ads "Can take a licking and keep on ticking"

It is not a flashlight that is small and super bright for traveling or bedside. Good light for taking the dog out or hiking in the woods.

Comparing size.

I must add this. Of all the 18650 traditionally styled tactical flashlights I have owned the Lumintop TD16 is my favorite.

The Xeno with its rubber bumpers reminds me a bit of the old Rayovac Indestructible series lights.

Rayovac Indestructibles used to be a a series of extremely durable and quite cheap lights. They got their durability from relatively light weight, plastic construction, and liberal use of rubber bumpers on the outside of the lights.

I haven’t checked to see if Rayovac still makes that line and whehter they still use similar construction.
