MTN Electronics: LEDs - Batteries - Lights - Chargers - Hosts - Drivers - Components - 1-Stop-US Source

Less green, and more floody.

If shipping is too expensive from Mtn Electronics, you can get them in a whole variety of flavors, I mean color temps.

I have used several of those Samsung’s and agree with BlueswordM (not that my opinion adds very much to his). I think they are a decent bit less green than the 219C’s and I really like them a lot. I like putting them in S2s with an optic in front.

Maybe I missed it, what was the MTN announcement someone said a few posts back?

It never happened.

Actually, Richard bought D18s and SST-20s.

So the big news that was never announced was that he’s going to be selling the Emisar D18 and sst20 emitters?

I don’t really know, that’s just what Richard told me.

I think DBCustom is hiding something more… significant.

A talking mule?

We can only hope it’s e-switch boost drivers with Narsil/Anduril and if it’s not can I just start this rumor so people ask him about it?

But Richard doesn’t even use those UI’s. It would be nice to see the other sizes of boost drivers available, but that shouldn’t be a surprise.

I jumped the gun on something I thought was about to happen, not taking into account delays obtaining merchandise before listing it.

My excitement got the better of me… it’ll happen, can’t show pics, but it’ll happen. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have been a mule many years in my life (carrying building materials for a couple of decades), and everyone knows how much I talk, so no offense taken Lightbringer. lol

NEW PRODUCTS:

20 and 22mm boost drivers

And some new e-switches (YAWN)

And the boost drivers will support 2S and more current in a future batch (MORE WAITING UHUHEUHEUHRRRRRGGGG)

The 90 CRI LH351D available at MTN is claimed as P6 Flux Bin, Samsung calculator estimates about 18% less output (S2 vs. P2) compared to S6 bin that was tested here. The estimation for the higher Q2 bin is 237lm at 700ma and 760lm at 3A, not exactly promising. How does the output of the MTN’s LH351D compares against the Nichia 219C D240 at about 3A in real life?

I know I can get bare leds with a higher bin in places like Arrow, but I rather avoid reflowing as I would likely need to import soldering paste or find an usable product locally and I would likely mess up things anyway.

Edit: I rechecked the LH351D specs and bins ending in 6 are loose bins,P6 is not some halfway bin between P2 and Q2, P6 means a group of P2, Q2 and R2 bin leds with flux between 320lm-380lm at 1050mA. Also the highest bin at 4000K 90CRI is Q6 (Q2, R2 and S2), so P6 is only a bin lower than the maximum at that color temperature and 90CRI. In fact you may get a R2 from a P6 and only a Q2 from the Q6 if you are lucky/unlucky. I guess the LH351D is just more efficient at 5000K where you can get the S6 bin than at 4000K.

I’ve been testing the 20mm Boost and it’s really nice, robust enough that it just doesn’t give a lick of problem no matter what I do with it. I currently have two of them, one in an L2 with XHP-35 and another in an C8+ with XHP-35… single cell operation and a very wide range of control. Both of these lights are special lights, the L2 is a clear machined finish and the C8+ is a prototype that I got lucky enough to end up with… and now both have outstanding drivers that really deliver! My C8+ is getting 1999-2003 lumens in my newly rebuilt calibrated light box. It manages heat exceedingly well, ramping up and down to find a sweet compromise on it’s own accord, and yet if I want to keep bumping it to Turbo it will take the heat more than I can. Just gotta love it!

Dale - are the boost drivers you using set to 2.3 amps out? I see that's a config option and sounds perfect for a XHP 35 HI, specially with those lumen #'s you are getting. Could be 2.0 amps as well...

Yes, 2.3A out. The UI is Guppydrv3.0, quite a lot of options.

It can work with one or 2 cells, is more efficient and cooler running with 2 cells as it isn’t boosting as hard. I’m really enjoying the C8+ a lot, the L2 as well but use the C8+ more it seems. (size factor I’m sure)

I have the C8+ set for 5 levels, with a short 20ga loop between the MCPCB and driver lead at the emitter I see…

This from a Sony VTC5A at 4.09V.

He doesn't say but looks like an ATMEL MCU based on firmware offerings? Good it's planned on to offer e-switch support.

The listing says 1S battery config only for the first batch. Is yours a prototype?

ATTiny25, yes.

And because someone will surely notice, yes, I machined the driver bay in my Prototype C8+ to accept a 20mm driver from Richard.

^DB Custom, I hope you are doing good my friend.

I want to give my thanks to Richard at MtnElectronics for installing a Nichia R9080 onto a custom board for the Relio light.
He has helped make an awesome light even awesomer!
