Evidence so far is they donāt pay much direct attention to this thread.
Something that was said recently by someone on TLF who is in contact with Lumintop gave me the impression they did at one point in the past look at this thread, but suffered a debilitating eye-roll injury as a result.
Personally, I still donāt care about the color of the clip, as long as it is not something that is going to rust if whatever the coating is wears off, but the apparent protrusion of the clip ring from the body should be obvious as undesirable.
If that is final, I will still buy it, but be a bit disappointed at the need to sand down the outer diameter.
Youāre probably right that they havenāt paid much attention to this thread. It gets hard sometimes for even BLF members to follow it everyday.
Hopefully, there are no glaring issues, or dealbreakers with the samples. Hopefully, the clip fit, and it all fit. Hopefully, production and sales will start soon. Hopefully.
āI hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.ā
Thatās probably a good thing. I worry a little about the mental condition of anyone whoās followed this 8,000 post āadventureā. (Myself included.)
That said, thereās a lot to be gained by them having a regular on here provide them a direct weekly TLDR. This may already be happening, but it sounds like thereās pretty big lapses in communication.
While I prefer the original bare metal clip, having a painted black clip or one where the ring sticks out slightly from the light is a minor issue to me.
I think itās silly when I see people posting they wonāt buy the light because of it. But to each their own.
In all seriousness oweban, this is a good idea. I donāt think we can āexpectā it, but it would be nice if someone from the vendor/company would post every week or two with a brief update on what is happening. And ideally it would be the same person each time.
They should not be expected to answer question or even actively participate in discussions, only to post a brief update every couple of weeks.
But, since the team members of projects usually have to beg for infoā¦. this is unlikely I guess. Unless possibly it is somehow part of the original agreement when a ācollaborationā is finalized. But even then it would be unenforceable.
I agree. To me it is utterly comical to read those āI wonāt buy becauseā¦ā¦ā posts.
Though ācomicalā, it is kinda sad too. Why do people feel the need to post thatā¦ just donāt buy.
Even if itās someone from the forums (TK, tatasal, etc) that keeps up on it and gives the TLDR and relays feedback - the rep from Lumintop doesnāt need to actually read the thread nor post, just a bit of a once-a-week catch-up. I guess thereās lots of ways it could be done, but I guess weāll just wait for the latest photos/thoughts, as Iām not going to be drawn into guessing whatās the most up-to-date.
I agree oweban, team member updates are fine. They do a great job.
But many of them are having to fight for updates, sometimes with very little or no result for their efforts. That has to be extremely frustrating for them, as well as the time they must waste for the effort. Then only to find something out by way of a FaceBook post someone quotes here on BLF. :person_facepalming:
That sux.
I was just thinking an update ever couple of weeks from āoneā factory person would take some of the load from team members. And would probably ease the minds of many members too.
Of course any specific updates would still come from team members. But somehow they would be / should be given them in a timely manner. They should not have to fight & beg for answers or find things out from a third party. They should be kept informed.
All that I have written is probably just a pipe dreamā¦. but in a perfect world, it would be nice.
Itād be really interesting to know that, no? If only we had a working line of communication with Lumintopā¦
Thatās basically why this project wasnāt completed a year ago, and why there have been so many surprises ā both welcome and not. For projects like this, BLF needs to talk directly to manufacturersā¦ and thatās not how this project was set up.
ā¦ and I get to read everything twice. Pbtbtbtbt.
I donāt have a mental condition though. I donāt know what youāre talking about. But could someone please do something about the bats?
