Regarding a carry.
Remember. 1 inch of blade in right place will bleed anybody out.
It’s NOT…. WHAT you carry.
It’s HOW TO USE, what you carry.
BIG Blades are just Psychological.
My little SOG Micro’s will drain out the biggest bloke at armpit. neck,
inside elbow. Wrist etc. and he won’t even feel it.
Same with my little SRM 6029 Or Maybe the coming
SRM 6040??.
with keyring in end hole to swing it on little pinkie. 1 1\2 in Blade is all you need specially with keyring on your
little finger.
Put ALL your iffy gear in luggage. You won’t get any type of blade through any scanner nowadays.
and keep ALL blades chef edged.
Heh, this isn’t for self defence or anything, basically an alternative to a leatherman on my belt. I found I use the blade in my work a lot more than the rest, so I’m thinking 2-3” tops, what I’ve been putting in my fob pocket lately is this:
But was thinking something a little more refined might be nice to go along with EDC torch. It won’t be going on a plane, by customs I was more meaning stuff being rejected as it arrives in the mail.
But yeah, I’ll check out those Chinese brands; something simple and low fuss but with a nice mechanism.
Post lady ’tried’ to deliver 6 more of my GoCommas yesterday, but signature was required & I was not home to sign. .
Oh well… tomorrow will work.
Had another package from GB too with other stuff in it.
Both were Belgium Post. Did I forget to mention before that Belgium Post requires signature for delivery.
These were my 4th & 5th packages by Belgium Post that required signature. I missed them all on the first delivery attempt.
That interesting, we jumped on THESE a couple of months ago when GOOSE made THIS THREAD about them.
But the link you posted has different pictures, says GoComma, and when I just checked; a slightly different price. The knife ’looks’ the same.
The blade on the one’s we got is 60 mm, just under 2 1/2 inches & is San Mai Damascus.
Fit n’ finish is very good too. It make a very good looking ‘Gentleman’s Knife’, & does gentlemanly tasks very good.
Hard use… probably not. But it was not designed for that.
The Damascus on the one’s we got is real. It is San Mai Damascus. A solid steel core sandwiched between two layers of Damascus that has been hot forged welded or hot roll welded to the core steel.
On these the core steel is visible the entire length of the blade spine (and of course the edge). It is dark so is most likely some type high carbon steel. Then after the blade is ground it is etched in Ferric Chloride or a mild acid solution to bring out the Damascus pattern. The etch solution reacts differently with the metal in the Damascus… thus making the pattern appear.
Got the 6 GoCommas today. They appear to be the same quality as the first one fit n’ finish wise. That would be excellent! All were shaving sharp out of the box. :+1:
Got a Land 910 in another package. Very good fit n’ finish, very sharp out of the box. Hair popping sharp in fact.
… What site are you checking it on?? That just doesn’t sound like much info. . I get info on mine from the time they get notification right on thru to when the USPS gets it.
17 Track was more detailed on the package I got today.
This one was actually very fast once Belgium Post actually got there hands on it. It would have been 9 days if I had been home on the 20th.
