Gocomma assisted & manual flipper knives

I predict you will get them this week….

I looked on Gearbest for new Gocomma knives.

There's one that's new and in stock.

It has a wood handle and it says it's damascus.

It is not a flipper, it doesn't say the blade length, and there are no reviews at the moment.

It's not my cup of tea, but I'm super picky.

I just ordered one of these for $9.99

If I don't like it, I'll give it away to a friend, or try to sell it on BLF.

That interesting, we jumped on THESE a couple of months ago when GOOSE made THIS THREAD about them.
But the link you posted has different pictures, says GoComma, and when I just checked; a slightly different price. The knife ’looks’ the same.

The blade on the one’s we got is 60 mm, just under 2 1/2 inches & is San Mai Damascus.

Fit n’ finish is very good too. It make a very good looking ‘Gentleman’s Knife’, & does gentlemanly tasks very good.

Hard use… probably not. But it was not designed for that.

I like the Damascus, I don’t care if it’s fake. I tend to only get flippers now, I really dig the Kershaw speed assist.

The Damascus on the one’s we got is real. It is San Mai Damascus. A solid steel core sandwiched between two layers of Damascus that has been hot forged welded or hot roll welded to the core steel.

On these the core steel is visible the entire length of the blade spine (and of course the edge). It is dark so is most likely some type high carbon steel. Then after the blade is ground it is etched in Ferric Chloride or a mild acid solution to bring out the Damascus pattern. The etch solution reacts differently with the metal in the Damascus… thus making the pattern appear.

edit for spelling

Good deal!I need to check those out.

Got the 6 GoCommas today. They appear to be the same quality as the first one fit n’ finish wise. That would be excellent! All were shaving sharp out of the box. :+1:

Got a Land 910 in another package. Very good fit n’ finish, very sharp out of the box. Hair popping sharp in fact.

I got a rock.

:frowning: . :frowning: … What does your tracking say Lightbringer??

Was your shipping free or paid?

Same exact message except for the timestamp (the 12th) is:

Processed Through Facility, 04/19/2019, 3:29 am, BRUSSELS EUROPEAN MAIL CENTRE, BELGIUM

so who knows if it just got The Itis from stuffing away all those waffles.

Paid 3bux extra. So much for snappy service…

:frowning: :frowning: … What site are you checking it on?? That just doesn’t sound like much info. :frowning: . I get info on mine from the time they get notification right on thru to when the USPS gets it.

If you haven’t tried yet, try:

I have accurated results with both. Package Radar probably the best results of the two.

If you don’t want to do it yourself Lightbringer, PM me your tracking number & I’ll run it down for you… Guaranteed……

What day did it ’supposedly’ ship??

Same cryptic dealy, 03:29 for both, as descriptive as

Departure from office of exchange

and that’s it.

I use 1tracking for this one, order created 04-01.

17 Track was more detailed on the package I got today.

This one was actually very fast once Belgium Post actually got there hands on it. It would have been 9 days if I had been home on the 20th.

……

……

In my book, it's hard to beat an assisted-opener by Kershaw.

They're not usually super cheap, but they're cheaper than the competition.

Finally… it made its way to customs (supposedly).

Might even get it before June.

Thank goodness…. …. :+1:

Got ’em today! Actually, delivered Friday, just got to work today.

Quite nice, yep. Nice easy flipping, glass-smooth… might just get a few more if I can snag ’em at a Nice Price.

Is $9.99 good enough?

Yeah, I just did. Looked, saw, bought.

I hate you guys…

Nfi what I’m going to do with so many “spares” (I sure as Hell ain’t gifting any).
