Acebeam X45 defective, 2 months old

Thanks for support. I will ask Acebeam one more time to resolve this situation for me. If they refuse, I will look into other options.

Seems that they are just ignoring me now.

really sad, they charge premium money but gives zero support if light goes kaputt… that just shows that acebeam sucks and their light are overpriced bigtime! :person_facepalming:

Wao, just wao. Sorry for the bad experience OP, that’s a lot of money for a light. And asking to delete this thread? What on earth? So now we know, let’s just avoid Acebeam entirely.

Yeah, your first option is to go after the shipper who shipped the head, as it’s their problem and China Post’s issue on the back end of the delivery. Acebeam is not in the shipping business, so they bear no responsibility in that regard.

Secondly, you sent it out using your cheapest option and didn’t pay for a tracking number, so that’s ultimately on you and you most probably did not pay for insurance and again, that’s on you.

Lessons learned.

I think that offering you a brand new light at essentially 50% off retail pricing is more than fair, IMO.

As far as import duties go, we’ll that’s the EU for you and things are more expensive over there, so not Acebeam’s fault either.

I have had great experiences with Acebeam. I Troubleshooted an issue and they sent me a free replacement tail cap PCB which fixed my issue.
I also had a time where I received an X70 handle with a scratch. Both times the company sent me replacement parts for free.

Sure, I could have chosen for insurance, but Acebeam requested me to note 10 USD as value on the package. So I would only have gotten 10 USD back. Only difference with tracking ID would have been that I had known where the package went missing.

Without even the slightest hint or claim that my track record is so much better, it is safe to say that in this case pretty much every action has gone wrong. Some decisions you made up yourself, some were following the suggestions of Acebeam. Acebeam is not a random third party, it is the other party involved. Their suggestions will never harm their own point of view. When you act accordingly, that’s legally your own choice. IMHO there isn’t much more you can do.
Only routes open are: excellent customer care, high morals, and goodwill, on the side of Acebeam :person_facepalming: .

You have noticed that a lot of members are in your corner. But it is a bit like repeating Paris Jackson that from now on I never again will stay in one of the hotels of the sultan of Brunei. Because I have never had any intention to go to Brunei in the first place, even if they were not introducing Sharia law. Same thing is me saying I won’t buy an(other) Acebeam in my life, because I can’t afford them anyway.
Maybe it is time to make some noise. Social media are perfecty suited for making noise. That’s why so few of us go there. But that (and the other forum) is the place where a lot of people dwell that can afford buying an Acebeam. Maybe they change their mind.

The head of a flashlight is probably 80% of the total coast, so why would they instruct you to only insure it for $10?

It would have been a repair job and I highly doubt they would been charged any tax as a manufacturer.

I don’t know why Acebeam required this. I think to avoid any mistakes at customs and be charged after all.

It makes no sense for a maker of lights to ask to set a low value, that just shows they try to cheat chinese customs or something who knows… either way its a very bad move from them how they handle all this… really overpriced lights nothing else.

I’m out of luck here. My second Acebeam X45 has also stopped working properly. I can’t cycle through the modes anymore. I’ve contacted Acebeam, but no repy for I believe 2 weeks now. I’m not sure, maybe they are unable to get to work there because of the Corona virus.

Would be happy to hear if anyone has advice here.

wow second? quess acebeams quality is not worth their price on highend flashlights… but now its the Corona virus thing in asia so expect things to standstill not sure if many factories are open now or closed depending regions etc….

There is probably no free solution i would change the driver.

Lexel said he was making a driver for this light.

If you go through the hassle and get a new head and it breaks again whats the point? You just wasted more money on shipping and waiting time.

IMHO there are only 2 people who can do that: mr. Admin. and you (by mistake?)

I think that Acebeam will offer me to send the light back to China. This will cost me about 25 EUR. Then, if all goes well,it will be send back to me again, after repair or replacement. And I will be charged import duties again, about 50 EUR.

So in total, pay 75 EUR to have a working light again. Or, just let this go and accept that I paid quite a lot and end up without any working X45.

There are probably enough members willing to help to repair it for you. (If its just the driver you can do it yourself, otherwise i am willing to do it)
The thing is, it will cost money for parts and shipping.

Probably a Lexel driver will be better than the Acebeam one, since this is already your second one that fails.

Good information. I purchased the X45 a couple of months ago on Amazon at 215 dollars. Its been fine so fare but its good to know I can get a driver from Lexel if needed. Sorry to hear your Acebeam crapped out on you RonNL. I am definitely interested in the, soon available X45 3x Buck 15A driver with BLF firmware from Lexel. :+1:
